DISCUSSION: Charging for free services

1.) I would not.

2.) I don’t think so. There are tons of videos, posts on the forums, and groups that can help for free. There are even authors who help. I’ve learned how to do things by reading stories, and knowing basic coding. You start with a basic understanding, then develop it. People who are charging were at this point once.

3.) I think it’s a bit low. Also, don’t charge for proofreaders. Unless this person has a damn English degree, they’re really not any better than any other person with English as their first language. Unless they’re one of the morons who yells at people to correct their grammar in text messages, and has been called a “Grammar Nazi”, and went through a story reveiw that said that the story had poor grammar, yet there was about 20 mistakes on one page- Yeah… I’m projecting. I hate how this sounds, because it seems like I’m putting myself above people, but, in the most… Non-self-obsessed way possible, even I wouldn’t charge. I help people for free. Because it feels good. Not because I want to make a quick buck.
