I hope these help. This is a very thorough study.
I will only cite graphs created by researchers from trusted and non-biased places with thorough research such as the citation below because it is too easy for people to misunderstand numbers. I’m sorry I cited a graph that was difficult to read. Looking back on it, I can see where it would be confusing which is why I’ve provided this one below.
Anyone can create a phony graph, especially when they have no motivation to tell the truth other than their agenda. This man would suffer greater consequences for fabricating evidence and cherry picking.
I don’t like doing this kind of research again. I’ve done it before and it’s very painful to see and experience over again.
I wouldn’t. There is no excuse. No matter how you look at it. There are other options. You don’t ever have to resort to petty theft. There are places to go. People just have to look for them. I’ve been homeless before, I never stole from anyone. There are shelters and churches and good people in the world.
Just because someone has less money than another person doesn’t mean they aren’t well off. Would you seriously be complaining if you lived with any of those numbers? The “challenge” was to find nice predominately black neighborhoods and they exist, so I found them. When black people make up a small amount of the country, they’re less likely to be super well off just by probability alone. Then take into account the choices the individuals of the community make that affect more than just themselves, but the rest of their community.
I disagree that it erases existence. If I decide to create a story set in China, and I have no Hispanic people in the story, the entirety of Hispanics doesn’t vanish. I’m not erasing anyone. And no artist is erasing anyone by not putting a type of person in their art.
Loss of interest is one of the worst feelings to me. It’s also so difficult to fix. Sometimes it helps to “just do it” even if you don’t want to, but sometimes, it is so…just taxing and draining and doesn’t do anything for you. Terrifying, really.
Korean fried chicken? Can’t go wrong with chicken. I’d try it. I really like seaweed. Have you ever tried it? The only sushi I like, though, is eel. Sushi doesn’t do it for me, lol. I listen to mostly traditional, orchestral music.
If you think Black is offensive, and we must say African-American or African-Carribbean , then it should also be racist to call Chinise people yellow instead of Asian (also most of Russians are also Asian and so are Indians), calling Native-Americans red skinned or copper skinned or calling white people … well white. We’re caucasian you know …
She never said saying black was offensive?
I know but a lot of people say that black is offensive and we should say “African-American”
Then why say
???
Your point makes no sense in regard to what she said.
Hella off topic
Well a lot of people think saying the word black is offensive for some reason
It still has nothing to do with what was said, so your opinion is still dismissed
I know what you meant, I think. I know some people do get a little defensive about descriptive terms. I only say the things I say because it is how my family does it and no one in person has told me I was being offensive. Both of my black roommates were fine with my speech, and so was the other roommate that I would call yellow here, but she actually told me that Asians were green, lol.
We literally had a very interesting conversation about how her skin is green and a lot of Asians are green or yellow. She was Japanese, by the way. She loved her culture, but she wished that she spoke more Japanese. Her Grandmother died before she was taught much more Japanese.
No person I’ve met irl actually found it offensive or insensitive. I’ve read stuff where people would be offended or something, but I really feel like it is a minority of people who are like that. I think it comes from a good place, though. People want to be kind, there’s just a point where there’s trying to be so kind that people eventually become the most unkind they could possibly be.
Wouldn’t it be awesome if there was more traditional Indian clothing? Like sari most obviously, but I really love the choli! And it is cool and all that we have a yarmulke, but I also wish we had payot just a little. XDXD < Something that I’ve been thinking about literally since I woke up this morning. XD
I think we should have more outfits from other cultures too … For instance some national Romanian dresses and Viking outfits (some with some withouth hrons) also Roman armor and Indian (Native American) clothes, and also more rococo and since they put up a Regency background there should be regency clothing too
True. And thoughts of death scare me.
No, but a friend of mine did. Sushi is fine, but I must have it with soy sauce. Traditional music? Lovely…
Heard. Yeah the Christians they raided were all freaked like, “they’re all demons! Demons!” So horns were added in the art, but they never actually wore horns on their helms. It’d be cool to have a traditional Norse section with the beads and rings and everything. I love the Scandinavian cultures and mythology. <3
Request it lol
Well said!!! The world is not only America. I’m just laughing seeing how self-centred and ignorant these people are.
Um. I’ve never seen anyone say that calling someone “black” is offensive, unless they use it in a degrading manner (i.e. calling someone a “black bitch”). That’s not to say it doesn’t happen, but it wouldn’t make sense for it to happen a lot, considering that a LOT of black people aren’t African or American. For example, my mum’s nationality is British, but her mother is Jamaican!
Sheesh, people just love putting words in my mouth. I never said being called Black was offensive. I never said Asians being called yellow was okay. Either way, I would understand why people might find it offensive. White people used those terms in a racist and discriminatory way. And do you know “white” means holiness and purity? If you find it offensive to be called holiness, then that’s ridiculous. The word black was used to resemble “evil” during the time and they saw us a evil people because of own tone. That’s why they called us that. Still, I don’t find it offensive for myself but for others I’ll get it. “White” wasn’t used as a racist slur. Black, red-skinned, and yellow was and to insult us.
Thank you for defending me.
No problem.
I agree with pretty much everything about what you posted except this. “Black” is a relatively new term for black people and hasn’t really been a slur. “Yellow” and “red” have been though.
