Discussion: Do Y'all Think People Not Finding Others Outside Their Race Attractive is Racist?

“Omg Shannii are you Somalian”

NO

It’s kinda racist

Samee like bitch don’t assume someone asked me if I was adopted when my dad picked me up from school 5 years ago and I was like “bitch come at me we can take this to my trampoline, wanna take it to the tramp loser :joy::joy::face_with_hand_over_mouth:

What I was trying to say is, by sticking to one race you limit your experience. The word limit means: “a restriction on the size or amount of something permissible or possible”. Never said people aren’t allowed to do so. It would be silly of anyone to think they can dictate what people prefer.

 I disagree, LOL

So do you think it is racist when people ask me if my dad is my real dad or if I was adopted or something…? Because I’m not dark like him?

And then I need people to reassure me that I look mixed

People sometimes assume I’m Arab or African and for @AWeirdo, they just assume shes white. It’s annoying.

Nah it’s more why I get offended :eyes:

May have just been stalking this thread while simultaneously working. But funny story…I was traveling abroad once and I kid you not, every single stop I had back and forth (6 in total) at each airport one of the airport staff asked where I was from  it’s funny how racially ambiguous you can look even if you are not mixed.

It really annoys me when people assume I don’t want to date them because of race, too, though.

Like I explained to a guy that we were just too different. He acted very… rough. He was like “It’s cos I’m black isn’t it?”

No. It’s because you dress in full Adidas and you carry a knife with you to the grocery store

He better have a license for that

To requote myself, from a comment made to someone else:

Sticking to /preferring a certain race, limits a persons experience. The word limit means: “ a restriction on the size or amount of something permissible or possible ”. Never said people aren’t allowed to do so. It would be silly of anyone to think they can dictate what people prefer.

I never said anything about being allowed to. I said that choosing not to date another race poses no extra restrictions if you’re not attracted to that race anyway. It’s not like you’re going to date people you’re not attracted to.

I got my argument :eyes:

I wouldn’t call it an argument. I just don’t think they get what I mean

Ex: If I prefer to eat Cheerios only, am I limiting myself from the flavors of other cereals out there?

If you only like Cheerios, would you saying you only eat Cheerios be a limit? I mean, you’re not going to eat anything but Cheerios if you only like Cheerios.

And if you only like Cheerios, are you really limiting yourself? That’s not your fault your taste buds are that way. You didn’t choose to only like Cheerios.

I mean, you wouldn’t be limiting yourself to only Cheerios if that’s the only thing you like anyway. It’s not an active limitation. You are not limiting yourself. You as a person are simply limited by what you like. That’s not in your control

But what if you never even try anything else? I’m sure is the point here ^^’

Correct me if I’m wrong. You would be limiting yourself if you tried just one and was like “This and nothing else ever again!!!”

To be limited is not the same as limiting yourself. I am limited by what humans can do and can’t I am limited to the earth because I can’t fly in the skies like a bird. But I didn’t choose to be limited in that way, so I’m not limiting myself.

And therefore prefering to stay on the ground would be just me stating the obvious. I am already a limited human being, so me vocalising that wouldn’t be me limiting myself.
