Discussion: Do Y'all Think People Not Finding Others Outside Their Race Attractive is Racist?

Okay…

So you’re implying that all attraction is learned?

Also, why does my disagreement and explanation of why have to be an issue?

To me, its not racist because it’s just a personal preference, but if they started talking shit about that specific race then it would be racist, so it’s a 50:50 chance it might not or might be.

It is a discussion thread for a reason

Jeez. Why can’t we have nice things, I wonder.

I can guarantee everyone that you’re not missing out on great people if you have preferences. Not everyone from a race is the same, I really don’t understand this argument, who only dates people they are attracted to? Don’t you get to know them at first? I doubt anyone picks someone off the strets and say “Hey, you’re cute and we’re dating”

There’s nothing a race can offer that other races can’t. You just haven’t found them.

I mean, I use attraction and chemistry to differentiate friends from potential partners because I only date people I’ve been friends with for a while haha

Never implied all attraction is learned. Only implied attraction based on race/preference of a race, is learned.

Most likely, to answer that, it can be the way you respond sometimes. Seems like there is an attitude sometimes and it really rubs people the wrong way >.< :anger:

I mean, you do sound very aggressive sometimes. So that could definitely be why. (even though this is technically off topic and I don’t wanna go into it, but to shed light, or to try to…that could be it?)

It’s not always learned. Sometimes it just happens naturally and through feelings.

If you look at the OP, most of the examples are aesthetic reasons that technically have nothing to do with race.

Like, if someone isn’t attracted to curly hair, that excludes a lot of black people even without a race reason behind it. There are many reasons why a person could find themselves unattracted to most members of a race. It’s a generalisation to imply that all race-based attraction happens for the same reason.

To me speaking about race just brings in all kinds of fights, people disagree and agree. To me everyone should love each other no matter what, race, religion, or anything about them, and if that doesn’t happen they’ll someday find love within, but at the end of the day everyone has their personal preference and we have to respect that, that’s all I gotta say for this.
Some people aren’t racist but don’t prefer to be with a specific race, IF they said somethin like “Black people are just disgusting” then it’s racist. You never know until you ask.

Exactly. According to the “you miss out great things argument”, you miss great things all the time. Why are you dating one person at a time? Why not 12? You are missing out on great people.

Oh and by the way, new rule, everyone’s bisexual. You are missing out on great people because of their gender

It’s kinda pointless in my opinion.

Like, liking porcelain skin does rule out anyone who isn’t white. But it does rule out a lot of white people, too, so it’s not about race or ethnicity.
