Speak for yourself, because I prefer pg-13 stories, and even then some of them go a little too far that I have to stop reading.

A parent can teach their child right from wrong, BUT the child has the ability to use their power of discernment on whether they will heed what their parent taught them or not. And that is out of the parent’s control.
Yep, I’m not gonna censor myself because people can’t their kids not my fault
.
Actually you would partially be at fault for choosing to write an inappropriate story on an app that’s geared toward children… It’s a two way street
Yeah but you have to honey. It’s within Episode’s guidelines…
This person made a really good point on this matter:
How can you complain about the app’s rating AFTER downloading it? I doubt you didn’t realize Episode was rated 13+ before downloading it from your app store. If you don’t like pg-13 stories, why the hell did you download a pg-13 storytelling app??? That’s what doesn’t make sense ![]()
Well, I’m not soo. Plus, I was talking In general

Wait, so the whole thread of you complaining about how vanilla Episode stories have to be doesn’t count? Okay.
But even speaking in general, you don’t download a horror game (for example) if you dislike horror games, and then complain that the game contains too much blood/disturbing themes. Like, the logic here
Yeah, they need a block button
I-
Okay, fine.
I get what you’re trying to say lol
What content exactly is it that you want then? Erotica? Gritty and gruesome content? It’s hard for anyone to explain the reasoning for why X is disallowed, when you do not share what X is.
Also, wait, you’re 16, and joined at 10?See, this is the reason why schittwrites goes into the deepend of age-appropriate content, and how parental figures cannot control and monitor everything their child does. Not only is unfeasible, nor do they (generally) want to exert that energy.
Imagine your parents found, I don’t know, ice cream to be an inappropriate treat for people your age. Could they in any way protect you from enjoying ice cream 24/7? Or would they require the aid of the ice cream shop?
I may not be a mother, yet, but I do work with teens every day. And, I can with certainty say this; the thing they want to do the most is the thing their parents don’t allow them to. So, knowing that, it’s a good thing that Episode and any other service like that keep strong guidelines, and act upon them.
Growing up, I’ve seen my fair share of gruesome content in an internet world that was far less filtered and monitored. For better or worse; some of the images are still scarring me today.
Folks, before downloading episode, we all are aware that it’s a pg-13 app (unless you didn’t check the constraint) and so, you must know that it will adhere to the play store and app store’s policy. For a more mature content, there are other apps which provide it in abundance. Now you want to read stories on episode AND also want mature content… You can’t expect to get both dices in your favour.
Nothing crazy. I just miss the old episode. And, plus me being 16 got to do with nothing
That’s okay, feeling nostalgic for something one used to love is perfectly normal. But it’s not necessarily the case of the thing you used to love going downwards; it might be the case you’ve either outgrown it, or lost interest with it. And that’s fine! Absolutely normal! I’ve many interests I used to have, that I hold dear memories with, but couldn’t see myself ever looking at again.
It’s just how it is.
And, ah, my point with your age was merely a “I want this type of content, even though I’m not age appropriate for it yet” argument. Since, you joined a 13+ app when you were ten, and want (what I assume) content that’s on the mature side… Which, by international law, is 18+, which you are not yet. And, I’m sure your parents couldn’t stop you from looking either up, if you wanted to
Vanilla episode stories???
OK so I’ve been on the forums for a pretty long time so when they introduced new stricter guidelines a bunch of people had complaints. My least favorite were censoring swear words (they still know what the word is and I already did censor them except the word sh** however now that had to be censored too) and no guns on covers. Like it sucks for people who commissioned covers but if we can have guns in stories, why not story cover?
Also they are not listening to us when we say we need fanmail back for android. Issue has never been addressed despite many complaints and no word uttered on it.
This is very true like I’m nostalgic for forums 2018-2019 and it’s perfectly normal to miss how it was before ![]()
That’s basically what she was saying. About the no uncensored swearing, the no uncensored sex scenes, no violence etc. I personally don’t find this boring and restrictive. But regardless of what you might feel about it, it doesn’t change the fact that Episode still needs to follow pg-13 rules where none of this is allowed
Yes. I’m sorry it’s ridiculous. It’s 13+ but do the people at episode really think that 13 year olds don’t understand what sex and swearing is. Compare it to PG-13 movies which is also what a 13 year old can view by themselves. You can see fairly strong violence, non-graphic sex scenes, drug references, murder and death, swearing with even one “f” word.
The people at episode are treating 13 year old like they’re 2 year olds. It’s gotten beyond frustrating.
I’m not going to complain about the guidelines since it could’ve been worse but why are people acting like 13 year olds are naive or something. Some of my buddies (that I grew up with) been saying sexual stuff since the age of 8.
This. The guidelines are not actually in line with what you would see in a PG13 movie. I got an overlay rejected for “excess blood and gore” and, like, idk what to say except I strongly disagree. I mean like we’re talking a tablespoon of blood max and absolutely no “gore”. I mean when I was 13 I had already started my period it’s weird to say that 13-year-olds aren’t allowed to see blood.
