Gosh, I don’t know if there’s a good way to answer this. 
Personally, I don’t have that big of an issue with it. I don’t read featured stories for a lot of reasons and this is just another one to add to my list.
I think there’s a huge difference between race swapping to fit a narrative or a culture that was already identified and prevalent in your story vs. just swapping to give a certain group representation.
I’m okay with the first to an extent, but I’m not okay with the second because it’s just ingenuine and honestly… Kind of offensive.
This is an unpopular opinion, but here I go.
While there is a lack of representation in POC, I don’t feel I can complain for a demand that was met by the Episode team. There were people asking for more diverse characters and they tried to add them.
Personally, I don’t want someone who doesn’t want to write about people of color to be writing about them.
I want people who are using it as a vehicle to reach people and to tell a story with depth to be using that sort of representation.
