Exactly! The world in itself is diverse, heck - characters can even be mixed (must be a shocker to some people but it’s true).
We’re not saying there’s anything wrong with white characters but we’re saying there is something wrong with the rest of us getting little to no representation and to those of you who keep saying: “why don’t you go write it then”, well, you know what, I just might.
There are also some non-poc authors who write excellent POC characters so that is also no excuse
Exactly! Just write us like you would any other human being. Sure there are stereotypes you want to avoid but it’s not like you have to make everything about the character be centered around their race.
Funny thing is when they add POC they are either mixed with white or Asian. Plus any other European race.
Or light-skinned with white or Biracial feature
Yeah, I don’t get why people forget that you POC doesn’t have to be JUST half-white or made up of only two ethnicities. Like… sigh, sometimes I feel like they just want to be able to use some POC features without getting hate and sometimes even when they are half-white, they’ll have more white features.
Not every black person got blonde hair, blue eyes, green, hazel etc. We can have those but not all of us do. I don’t have those features. I don’t have straight hair. I have nice ethnic Curly hair with dark brown eyes sweetie.
Sometimes I get really bothered when the only black people in a story has any other eye color than brown like I get that black people can also have blue, green eyes … but I rarely see brown eyed black
And I hate it when they give Caucasian characters black features and make an excuse to say they are mixed just so they won’t get backlash
Right! I see violet eyes on blacks all the time! Acting like violet eyes are so regular to have. 
They aren’t they are very rare

And not all Asians have fair skin, I’ve been seeing so many side or bg characters with monolids and distinctively fair skin across several stories and I just feel like people seem to forget that many Asians are actually brown, it’s just that in some countries they’ve been erased from media.
And what is people’s deal with brown eyes! Frankly, I love my brown eyes and it’s a beautiful eye colour which I somehow don’t see that often on characters. All I ever see is the token black friend with blue eyes, time after time. Like, please! And curly hair!!! Come on…
Asian have unique tones along well th other POC. Filipinos have a honey tone and so do other Asian races. Plus you don’t need monolid eyes to be Asian. Some Asians don’t

Stop putting monolids on only white Asians, brown Asians have them too! But also stop giving all your Asians monolids, they don’t all have the same eye type. Thankfully Episode is working on some more eye types and I hope people will use them correctly on Asian characters and try to make them more diverse…
I don’t get why people mistreat Asians. Like they aren’t as diverse in Episode when in real life they really are. They all look so different to the body shapes to hair

Yeah! Most of the time they’re a background character and the MC’s best friend at most. It’s truly disappointing and also: Arabs! Never seen an Arab MC on Episode. I hope to see a story set in an Arab country one day… Or at least with an Arab MC.
Me too! I hope to see a wider variety of Asian characters and I also hope that people don’t misuse them the way people have done with the current monolids…
Same. I just feel they think Arabs are too “dangerous.” And there is a popular Episode writer that is Arab and hasn’t even written a story about her own race
There’s a story called “Arabic Love” but I haven’t read it so I can’t comment on the content/representation.

Smhhh, it’s so annoying because we actually have a bunch of Arabs in the community so it’s not like people can say they don’t exist/erase them the many forms of media have. And oof I think my friend brought up a similar issue o-o
