Agree!
I have many Muslim friends and all of them have their own thoughts on their teaching and there are also a few that don’t wear hijab, not because they are being disrespectful but they just doesn’t feel the need to, as long as they wear modestly.
Yeah, I agree. I’m a Christian myself, and sometimes I avoid telling people that, because I’m afraid they’ll think I’m a stereotypical, homophobic racist.
I hate how people’s beliefs are undermined.
Yesss!
I have Indian friends as well and you can’t classify a kind of person as the whole race itself, like seriously. I have a few close Indian friends and they’re really fun people to be with.
Not all of us are like that, really!
There are different kinds of Christians as well and if any of you do encounter one who’s rude or close to the stereotypical type of Christian and discriminate you, I can tell you that they’re not really living a Christian life.
We are taught to love and accept everyone, regardless of their background and personality, because other people are also created by the same God who created us.
1. Do you actively participate in any religions?
Yep, but I’m not like a really good follower.
2. Do you feel your religion is represented a lot on Episode?
Well I recently see some as a side character mostly.
3. Do you feel your religion is represented accurately on Episode?
Not really. I don’t remember the titles as mostly they’re just side characters but it bothers me that sometimes author make a character use hijab but she wears short sleeved shirt, tight clothes, or miniskirt/short with leggings. It’s not right and it doesn’t look nice
4. Which religion(s) do you think should be represented more?
Idk, I prefer to read a story without any representation of religion. Culture representation is okay for me, but not any religion as (it’s actually a private matter) sometimes it was not as right/wrongly represented.
5. What do you think Episode can do to be more inclusive to different religions?
Well if they decide to include hijab in the feature, should’ve add more modest and longer apparels (for authors who decided to include Muslim representations/story with someone wearing hijab)
Ah yes, I just realized the only Muslim characters I’ve encountered are girl wearing hijab. I’ve never met one without it in any story but sometimes I guess they includes girl with hijab for the sake of inclusivity and diversity without knowing really much about it… Like, oh she’s wearing hijab she must be Muslim.
Yup, for me rather than forcing to include a Muslim girl with hijab (but wrongly represented), it is okay to include a Muslim girl without the hijab. A lot of my friends here don’t wear hijab too
If the author really feel the needs to include someone wearing hijab, maybe should’ve searched more on how they dress actually rather than just popping some hijab on a character
