Discussion: sexual content evrywhere

if you open the app in the romance section what do you see? nothing but very sexual covers there look like a collection of erotic fiction.

and I do not understand why the episode allows this. after all the app is 13 and over.

it states in the guidelines(the rules) that
portrays adult themes, including pornographic content, nudity, or prostitution;

  • includes excessive use of profanity or sexually explicit phrases;
    Censor Bar Use, Nudity, and Sexual Content:

  • Depiction of sex (or anything suggesting that sex is occurring at that moment) in any form, including but not limited to, gyrating bodies, oral sex, or moaning/groaning is not allowed.

  • Explicit details of what is happening or has happened off-screen is also not allowed.

  • Any nudity on cover art is strictly not allowed.

  • Frontal nudity is allowed in a story if it is not excessive, only used in non-sexual situations, and always accompanied with censor bars or scenery to censor.

  • Posterior nudity in a story is only allowed in a tasteful and non-sexual context.

I know most people give a warning in the story. but let’s be real who actually care about that. I have seen a few stories with some very sexual scenes

of course, episode cannot really remove those stories because that would be hypocritical of them

because the featured stories break some of the guidelines. the kiss list promotes sleeping with multiple people.

and mafia girl and venomous promote dating a criminal.

it would be nice if they followed their own rules.

I dont know how you other fell but personally I would feel disgusted if a teen read a sexual story by me. that should be illegal

oh, wait it is illegal(in some places. like US ) to show sexual content to a minor. no matter if its video or written

To me, yeah it’s wrong, but don’t you think you are kinda overreacting, I mean kids at the age of 13 already know what sex is. Plus that is the authors doing. Yeah it wrong… But

Gahh just delete every story on here and start over… simple

Well I didnt. but I was also not very mature for my age. but that is only one of my problem

my biggest problem is that it is against the rules. if they do not follow the rules they should change them

Nevermind people would be mad from their hard work or whatever.

well that is a consequence of breaking the rules.

That’s not how that go’s

Sex sells :woman_shrugging:t4:
Those stories keep the readers intrigued and keep them coming back for more. It’s a great marketing strategy for the episode team.
However, I agree the romance section is tragic. Every cover looks like it belongs on a “18 and over” website with ya mama’s credit card.

I don’t really think you can use this example on this case. Yes, some people’s stories are overrated, but it’s not like it’s porn lol.
Plus, episode doesn’t allow you to post too much anyway.

Well if they warn you about what’s in the story beforehand why would you continue to read it then get mad when you see exactly what was in the warning? I kinda agree with some of the things you said but come on now

:clap:t5::clap:t5::clap:t5:, I respectfully agree.

I know you get mad by this type of stuff, and many people do. But what do you think teens are looking for, majority look for romance, some mystery. I have to agree with @lexiplaysepisode said

Well they did give a warning so…

But honestly, I do agree with some of your points. I usually go on episode to relax, and then I’m blasted will all these disturbing stories at once.

They (Episode) should change the rules or they (authors) should change their content?

I understand your point, but there’s a difference between mature themes and sex being including/mentioned vs detailed description of sex happening. The latter isn’t allowed, so if I came across a warning at the beginning of the story, I would still not expect graphic detail

While I do agree that most of the stories on the romance section are absolutely disastrous with all these suggestive front covers which can encourage anyone under 16 to read all of this but I feel like they do this out of curiosity even though they’d probably learn about sex education around 12-13 years old (not sure on the laws in whatever country).

Then again, I easily get put off with such suggestive front covers and such detailed description of sex scenes.

episode should change their rules.

Well… no? Not really. They should enforce their existing ones, yes. But changing them just because so many people break them? What good would that do? Because honestly, I see that causing a lot more problems

I agree with that too

´They should either change the guide lines or enforce them

If it’s not allowed it will be reported and taken down. Secondly, I didn’t mention’mature themes’ I said a warning in general to whatever they are going to depict. Now if exactly what they warned you about is in the story you can’t get mad

Not really. Have you guys ever read Controlled Love. That was too descriptive. That story would be a good example.
