I see now.

It’s just that now a lot of parents have been booking holidays during term time and they’re worried about getting into trouble.

Usually if you’re over 16, they wouldn’t care because I went on holidays with my mum during the term time after I was 16.

A kid in my class went to Argentina for 6 months, the school had no problem with it because it was “planned”.

I guess it’s different because in the UK, they do have a problem with very long holidays.

They don’t if it’s planned, you have a good reason and you keep up with work. As I said, I was out of school for extended periods of time for filming

I think they shouldn’t fine your parents for letting you take time off to film for your projects.

But I guess it’s different after 16

I’ve been acting since I was like 6. It’s actually harder to get confirmed leave for A levels and GCSEs than earlier on because you have important exams. But I wasn’t filming my projects. I was in films.

Unless a family member is sick in another country then yeah I’d say it’s pretty reasonable. My aunt was so sick and my mother and father had to go see her. We came too.

Yeah, I went to India for my aunts wedding, missing a week off before the Christmas and holidays and after the Christmas holiday. They sent him an angry email but that was it. They didn’t fine him.

I don’t go to them either but anyway, it’s always detrimental when kids go on holiday turning term time.

Yes, unless it’s for something important maybe a graduation or to see doctors abroad. If it’s just for fun or shopping then you should be fined, school is way too important
