I kind of disagree with you. I just simply feel like it’s a loosing situation because people don’t get to see stories that are made by different authors. No one knows how good some of our stories because I can’t see them in the app.

Searching the forums and Instagram? They are full of up and coming authors trying to show their talents but no one wants to read stories or help someone without something in return. Some of my favourite stories are those I have found through the forums and most of them have less that 50K reads and have little to no recognition.
Episode can’t be held accountable for that because everyone has different taste with regards to content and genre so they will never be able to please everybody.

Whilst I know not all users have Instagram or use the forums, the stories are still there to be found on the app. I used to scroll past all of the popular stories, which took around 5 - 10 minutes depending on the genre, then I would add the stories that peaked my interest to my favourites as I went along to read at a later time. Yes, it took a little more effort than necessary but that’s how I came across my favourite Episode story (which to this day has less that 100K reads and has never been recognised by Episode).
I do agree there should be a way that newer authors have more of a chance to showcase themselves; however, I still don’t think Episode is at fault and should be blamed.

Perhaps you’re not searching well enough, like @PerplexedJam said there are whole threads dedicated to finding hidden gems.

Right now, we have a small section for new stories, and often times they are something like: “DON’T READ!” or “THIS IS A TEST!”

Every time I check mine there’s at least one story that isn’t in English 
(And I only speak English so unfortunately, I won’t be reading any of those suggestions.)

Although…
I’ve also found some poor mobile creation ones that only have 100 lines of dialogue.
And lately, the new user stories have been including some with 10+ chapters and 3k reads, which makes me think it’s not actually new lol
But never another language, nor This is a Test ones

I’m not saying they’re all bad. But I think there should be a larger section of them, as I’m sure there’s thousands, or at least hundreds of stories being published daily.

The other day I had five stories. Two weren’t in English (I think one was Dutch and the other… I can’t remember).
Nearly every time without fail there’s at least one!
I’d understand if the stories were in Spanish as I currently live in a country where Spanish is the main language and all my ads are in Spanish (even though no hablo español lol), but they seem to mostly be in Dutch, German or French.

RIght now all the stories showing for me are in English, but there are only four. Considering that the other sections seem to go on forever, I don’t really see why they can’t include at least a few more stories in the “new user stories” section.

I’ve never had much luck with that shelf. I’ve tried checking some stories out but have never come across anything that’s my kind of story. At least if they had more stories on that shelf, there’d be a higher probability that we’d find something that we actually like.
Lol last time I read a story from that shelf, in the first few lines the author explained that it was a direct copy of some movie

Recently, me and another author have typed a letter to Episode explaining how all of us felt about this issues. I went ahead and emailed it to them yesterday. Gladly, they responded back quickly. Our issues and concerns will be taken up to them Episode team. Jeremey also will take our issue to the Episode team. Hopefully, things will change from how they were. However, if they do not change the way they operate, then we’ll just have to deal with it.

I am searching enough, but how can you when there are thousands of stories that are written in the same exact genre as yours.

But that’s how life goes for most people. Yes, some people are handed things to them or get lucky, but most people get where they are through hard work. And sometimes it just doesn’t work out, and you have to try something new.
