So if you need something to add to your doc to @Jeremy, say I am also in agreement about highlighting stories on a shelf that is titled hidden gems under 5K (or whatever number is determined) and also some other way to show stories of newer and upcoming authors. Maybe they can create one of those columns they have for other categories I see.
Yeah I see what you mean.
Yeah that would be nice.
I guess to go with what I said before, maybe instead of creating a whole new column/shelf or whatever they call it, they can update the one you mentioned with more stories and a different system for picking the stories. @Briana_M and @Jeremy
I didn’t realize it was sent already. I am sorry my suggestion was late, but maybe you said something like that in your email letter to Episode. I did also tag @Jeremy here just in case.
Yes I mention something like that in my letter.
That’s good. Thank you (and who was the other?) both for writing this letter and representing us. I hope we get a good response back.
The letter is really good. We mentioned a lot of key points that some of us really care about.
I bet it was very good! Thanks again!
I hate how “known” authors get to beta-test everything. Gem choices, larger scripts, speech bubbles, tappable overlays. How about less known authors? Smh.
Sometimes the beta tests are open calls. The speech bubble one was mentioned in @/episodecreators IG and anyone could sign up. There are plenty of “unknown” authors in that one.
Gem choices was a bit different. There was a financial compensation component so it made sense to only use people in payments. But as far as I know, all the other beta tests were either open calls or then offered to people who had previously been in beta tests.
I did the wardrobe test last year (open call), then got invited to do the text effects one and now the tappable overlays. I applied for speech bubbles too but didn’t get in lol.
THANK YOU!! I hate that too. They have more advantages than “low rated” authors have.
It was escalated the day you submitted the letter. Either myself or another member of the team will update this topic once we receive a reply. Thanks!
You’re right, we all start at 0 reads. I try to promote authors with less reads, but lately i haven’t had the time to read, unfortunately. I started writing because i love to write and i remember being so happy when i reached 100 reads! You shouldn’t compare yourself to others, you should be proud of what you’ve accomplished no matter how many reads you have. Having not many reads doesn’t makes your story bad and having alot of reads doesn’t makes your story good.
Very true!
There are a LOT of good stories out there with very few reads.
Like you said, there are also a lot of stories that are really not very good (directing, grammar, plotlines) that have millions of reads.
Why do stories that aren’t very good get millions of reads?
They sell to the readers. They write what readers WANT to read.
That’s so right, of course everyone wants to get acknowledged for their hard work, but you shouldn’t bring other authors down and stir the pot to make yourself look good.
What do you mean it was escalated when I sent the letter? Did my letter start any complications?
…you submitted the letter to me and I escalated it to the team on the same day. No hidden meanings in what I said <3
Ohh I see. So you and the team are still discussing about the letter?
