Yeah, here’s a heads up: don’t read it.

God, I tried. I really, really tried giving it a second chance.

And I agree with how it’s problematic for a company, NOT the user, to be endorsing this.

I’d care less if some user with terrible writing and interpersonal skills created this story. But the fact that it’s officially endorsed by Episode and them knowing full well they claim to be for girls around age 13 minimum.

It’s giving off an extremely abusive message that this crap is “cute”, and enforces stereotypes about races and gender. I should’ve known the gay guy would flaunt their sexuality in our face, and the fact that Episode is marketing this is offensive. Considering I’m a WOC and queer, it busts my chops.

The sad part is? I’m not against sex. Me of all people can’t complain about that. Hell I’m writing a story on a lustful journey right now before publishing it. I’m also trying to be respectable and not overly crude at the same time. I don’t think any fiction story on Episode should be 100% realistic, but I am adamant on glorifying stories like It Starts With A Bra and most general bad boy/misunderstood girl tropes.

It seems like the story takes the whole “bad boy” thing to horrifying levels. It’s grade A bullying and sexual harassment. Not cute in the slightest. No one would find it cute or funny as a “prank” if it was someone not attractive (and even then, you gotta question your damn standards/self-respect if you fawned over this).

TLDR Sex in stories and language is whatever, even though probably not the best idea for 13 year olds. I think the app should at least elevate the age limit though, but Episode doesn’t do a good job of adhering to its’ own standards since I’ve seen really good stories getting flagged or unpublished. The possibility of that happening for my story would make me froth at the mouth. I’ve had it with sex culture being synonymous with sexual harassment and stalking behavior. I sure as hell won’t stand for it, and Episode should be ashamed of themselves for what they’re officially endorsing.

To me all the stories on episode is about romance and nothing else, I can’t find a story that isn’t about love and romance.

Yeah, it is a shame right? Like not everything revolves around romance. But especially with featured stories it is mostly only romance that they are writing and showcasing because that seems to be what attracts people to read their stories the most. Kind of a shame sometimes.

I keep seeing lots of comments on here and I keep switching sides. Some of the stuff in the story isn’t ok. To be honest I preferred the wattpad version as it was less sexual and stuff, I can see why everyone is going off at it being on a platform that is 13+, wattpad was 17+ and was allowed to have content worse then episode should, but honestly I think the wattpad version was for sure much less sexualised then this version. I think they the pranks a bit too far in this version then they should… If they want to have content that is higher than they are allowed they should just move it to 15+. It is an interesting story I will say, but if they could keep it a bit more realistic and have Alec be less of a dirtbag, I think it would be much better. I know a lot of people complain about the best friend but some people are actually like that, so I don’t think you can necessararily go off your chops about someone being themselves. Because lets face it, they are teenagers and teenagers ahve crazy hormones that are all over the shot and a lot of them tend to be a bit…

I agree this one compared to the wattpad version is so much more sexualised.
Very disappointed in episodes featured stories should be the best stories on the app.
I’m not againsts romance but when it’s the same thing over and over again it gets annoying.
Bad boy (secret past) but this story he comes across as a prepubescent boy but same thing he bad so it’s sexy I know if I saw a guy in my room i would beat the shit out of him.
MC enough said she is pathetic I don’t date bad boy well why and did read more abd excuse for the bad boy and MC was so stupid.
Best friend is revolting.
The writing is so bad what is with episodes taking wattpad stories and making them more sexual it’s creepy.

Personally I think if they just don’t have Alex as a romance option and don’t have the other one who is friends with Alex but does nothing to help and don’t stereotype gay people (I haven’t seen that but maybe bec I picked bad girl route or it’s in later chapters???) it could be better

Episode is a very large platform and its growing day by day. I have no idea as to why the content creators published a story that lies outside their own guidelines. To be honest, Episode should reconsider the publication of stories like this. It promotes everything that the 21st Century does not. At this point, it’s the story where the fault lies. If the theme of this story was “A bad boy steals your bra and humiliates you.”, I’d expect to see the MC be the strong woman she is and show him what privacy and human rights are. So from my point of view, Episode needs to be the bigger person and remove the story.

Totally. I didn’t even finish the story, and just left after the part about her bra. It makes me sick how Episode promotes this bullshit. My comment even got reported on another post about this story

I went against my word, and others, and read the first episode. What? That is the only way I can describe my thoughts about it. I feel like if they cut the romance and inappropriate sayings from the friend, it wouldn’t be so bad. Like others have said before like, a “prank war” story. Even the MC says something about a prank war. That actually sounds like a interesting plot, but the story and the way it’s written is terrible. I just can’t handle it. I am not going to be reading this story.

It’s just annoying too that this story lines are just rinsed and repeated. Like this is essentially the baby project plus or minus a few changes. Like where is the originality anymore? As well as why are the stories always dealing with harassment?!

I read the original version of this story on Wattpad. Wattpad is notorious for making cringey and over all unimpressive works of literature if it even qualifies as literature. The version on Wattpad that I read when I was like 11 and I’m going to admit that I thought it was okay, but not really worth my time. At the time I didn’t understand all the backlash and hate comments it got. I probably still have it in my library piled underneath 10,000 other works. Now that I am almost 16 I see why people were hating on it so much. Would you like someone to climb through your window and steal your underwear because they decided to stand naked in front of a window like they had any damn common sense and they had to get back at you. So a complete stranger climbs into your window and steals from you and if you choose to attack you don’t. MC stands there like a complete buffoon with a potentially dangerous individual in her bedroom inside her underwear drawer. Then he proceeds to humiliate her in front of the whole school and hits on her at a party and expect her not to be mad. It’s honestly sad how normalized sexual assault is in Episode stories. Honestly this story is shit in my opinion. I know they won’t remove it, but I’m still voicing my opinion.

Edit: Why is her bra so sexualized also? Girls wear bras so their knockers aren’t giving them whiplash everytime they move and some people’s breast actually hurt if they do without. Honestly why is the story so sexual in general? The Wattpad version is so much for 13-14 friendly.

Hi. I was only able to read/play the first episode. After I was done with it, I took it off my favorites. No thank you.

Yeah, a lot of the stories have romance as the main plot even in a lot of action stories, which is why I personally like to go out of my way to find ones that have it as a sub plot or have very little of it in the story at all. Is it obvious yet that romance really isn’t my thing? I guess that explains why I don’t write romance, lol.

Though there are a lot of good romance stories I have seen on the app. Nothing wrong with them, but they’re just not like this story. Did anyone get far enough to see if this story turned into a fun prank war or is everything still about sex and bullying?

If anyone’s wondering, on the 3 episode of “It Starts With A Bra” the main character goes in the boy’s locker room and see’s them all naked. At the end of the episode the guy your at prank war with… well… he kisses you naked in front of everyone. To me that was all weird.

I agree, some romance stories on episode are good, but most of them I just really don’t like. I like more of the action. Also I read all the episodes for “It Starts With A Bra” and the person your at prank war with, well he kisses you naked on the stage for everyone to see.

I don’t remember anyone being so body confident at my school. Not even the guys! These characters should be going through their awkward stage and feel embarrassed/insecure all the time. Now that would be believable.

I know right, to me it seem’s this is only popular because every episode someone is naked.
