Made me laugh
Iām deaddd
So, Iāve been an Episode reader for about 8 years now. Episode was something I picked up on during middle school- so the whole ā Episode Originals ā or them buying stories wasnāt all that big from what I remember. But!- recently the high up episode creators seem like theyāre running out of ideas⦠I get the whole ā having a brand ā thing, but really⦠it feels like every other story is about a mafia, having a billionaire LI or turning a ābad boyā LI into a husband. Someone please tell me Iām not the only one who feels like thisš„².
Do you mean those big authors with millions of reads?
Eh, not quite directly- but more so the frame of the āEpisode Originalsā.
Ok
Hey, it would be great if you donāt read them stories, if youāre going to make a thread about it. Most likely youād get flagged, if you continue. Itās disrespectful talking about authorās stories like that, as they spend time planning and writing it for people who enjoy the genre to read! Iām not trying to be rude, but Iām just suggesting to you, as youāre also violating the guidelines as well !!
Thanks love
Well put
Thanks Riless
Yes I agree. I donāt get why you are flagged. Especially since some authorās romanticize the mafia and gangs and toxic love interestsā¦
I personally donāt think itās disrespectful talking about stories that are harmful and romanticize toxic tropes. For example, the mafia romance that is heavily circulating Episode romance is extremely toxic to the young audience it is targeted, and while it is true many authors spend time planning and writing it, it all becomes one big pot of the same tropes, but slapping different names on the main characters.
The mafia shouldnāt be romanticized, and bad-boy/abusive LIās who are abusive in nature and possessive shouldnāt be romanticized as āover-protectiveā because the MC looked at a guy, while the LI is fine to have well over 5 girls he spends a night with each week.
The double standard in Mafia/Badboy/Abusive tropes is something Episode needs to get rid of, not ignore because āthe author put in a lot of hard work into it.ā All episode authors put hard work into their story, even the problematic ones, which is why we need to be able to criticize the authors to put their best foot forward, and inspire more original tropes . There are so many original and hidden gems on Episode, but because mafia romance keeps taking the spotlight, it is MUCH harder to get reads and support as an avant-garde writer
It may be violating guidelines to make fun of stories and stuff but wellā¦I think this is to point out the bad stuff. Sure, we talked about sugarcube and teabag for a while but there was also talks about glorifying mafia and stuff which shouldnāt really be in a 12+ story
I do understand that making sun of it is wrong. Whatās not wrong is the actual topics.
And whichever author flags this needs to first understand why we said thisā¦
I low-key love episode parodies of cliches lol
I appreciate youāre view point- but romanticizing gangs should be against guidelines honestly
THANK YOU! Iām not dissing anyone or trying to put anyone down. But lets be realistic- weāre really going to fetishize mafias of drugs and killing sprees?
Thank you for actually seeing the point Iām making. Iām not physically calling ANYONE out- just making a general statement
ngl I love reading the cliche stories because Iām a sucker for love Stories even if they are unrealistic, them being unrealistic is what makes them stories and interesting to read in my opinion, like Iām not out here to read a boring love story I want the mafia and guns and vampires, but I do also love reading other stuff as well to add some spice
I need my inhaler
you guys went all the way to ātea bagā and pumkin soup"
Bahaha, omg. You okay?
LoL You just gave me an idea of writing a story
