To answer the question of why most people read mafia stories… it’s the drama and s**ual stuff, that’s it. Purely it. That’s all that happens in those stories anyways. Oh and the suspense. They have this formula of drama, suspense, romance (it’s just lust/s*x). They’re good at suspense, that’s why people continue to read even if they hate it lol. I’ve read a lot of mafia stories because it sometimes helps me as a writer to see the other formulas/popular stuff other writers do so I can have a vantage point to go against, and they are terrible but also binge-worthy and good at keeping you clicking. But I can almost always predict what happens next, what the cliffhanger will be, what the “secret” behind the MC is, it’s all just the exact same formula.
