DISCUSSION: Your Very First Episode Story

1. What was your first story about?
It was a historical forbidden romance set around the War of 1812.

1.a) Did you publish it?
Yes, and it had about 1,000 reads when I discontinued it.

If so… did you archive it once episode released the archive feature?
I actually requested for it to be archived before the feature became available.

2. What inspired you to start writing it?
My love for history and own personal experiences.

3. Did you read the tutorial guides and guidelines before you started writing it?
Honestly, no, and it very much violated guidelines and instead of making the changes, I deleted the Episodes as I was too focused on the story I was currently working on.

3.a) If so, did they change your story ideas or influence you to change your plot?
Yes. It is a story I do plan to rewrite in the future, partly because @Apes would never forgive me if I didn’t. It doesn’t change the plot itself, but the guidelines change how I plan to pace the story as well as POV.

4. How far have you come since then?
When I see screenshots of the story, I cringe. It is amazing how far I have come in terms of story development and flow, directing, and of course, now I constantly bug @Tyler about whether something I want to write could potentially violate guidelines.

I’ve published 7 stories (4 completed, 3 ongoing) across 6 different genres.
I have been on 2 Episode shelves, won 1 creator contest, won EpyAwards (1 Main, 1 SubAward, and 2 First-Runner Ups), and won 6 Axiom Awards (2 Best Genre, 2 Hidden Gem, 2 Special Awards for Branching and Visual Effects).
I still have a few things to tick off my Episode bucket list, so I’m constantly pushing myself.
