I’d say it depends! I’ve seen a lot of people abandon episode all together if they don’t win or abandon the idea! For me, I’ve entered to contests and I’m entering R&R now 
I completed my FT entry, because I didn’t want to have too many ongoing stories and as for my reveal, I love it, but the way I’ve constructed it, makes it very draining to write, hence slow updates!
So I’d say it totally depends BUT learning from reveal make sure that your story is actually sustainable to write in a long term!
