I agree.
Just as an example Adventurous contest. There are 12 stories, two are obviously discontinued, three still on chapter 3 for almost two years, 1 on hiatus and to be fair there are also 6 complete stories 
No to mention how many contest entries I still have boommarked. I dunno why I still hope those will ever be continued
