So I was thinking of story ideas so I wanted to know if this would be a cool episode story. I want to write about a sci-fi story about a girl who’s a known unbeliever of science until an unknown entity forces her to go on an adventure to save all known alternate realities.

It sounds like an interesting idea! I’d love to read it! I do think that you’d have to be careful with writing the MC’s beliefs, though, even excluding political motifs. I mean physics (for example) was developed based on observations of the natural world and is supported by experimental data. It’s impossible to “not believe” in physics, only to be ignorant.

I assume that what your MC needs to be critical of for the story to work is only the concept of alternate realities, which could definitely work, especially if it’s a new theory because scientists are constantly working to improve existing models and develop new ones to better describe existence. Skepticism has some value! My recommendation is to really explore the specifics of her thought process. Maybe she’s even right to have doubts about some details of the theory and has her questions answered when she visits. Of course the science in science fiction doesn’t have to be accurate whatsoever, but while a smart, skeptical MC could be fascinating, a willfully ignorant MC could easily be unlikable.
