What do you do when you’re Writing a story but aborteren storie pops up in your head? My story has 6 episodes. I was in love with the idea of the story. Now I cant concentrade because another idea with a complete different line is in my head. I’ve drawn it down in my phone and have 8 possible episodes yet. But do you pause the story you’re Writing and start this new idea or do you write both or first complete the first story and start with a brand new afterwards?
To be honest
Writing one story is much easier
I’m writing one manuscript and four script stories it’s extremely difficult
I write a lot of stories the same time. Ik its a bad habit and its probably the reason why I feel like I want to die but when I get a good idea I just feel like writing it outright.
Oh god. This topic has my name on it I used to be able to manage it well, by working on the new idea and simply not publishing it until original idea was almost fully published or once it was completed. Now I just- I struggle. Contests tempted me and now I live on struggle street
I prefer writing the first to be completed. Writing double episodes mess up. So just I write one only to focus on one only.
I have around 11-12 on the go but only 1 of those is published, the others are currently being worked on having more than one on the go at the same time can work for some but not for others… it’s up to you if you want to have 2 on the go at the same time or not, one can be put on hold until you’re ready to continue…
I’m the same with ideas popping up into my mind with different plots… That’s why I have so many waiting
Me on a 25/8 basis
I write them down. I only have one story published at a time(unleash there comes a contest it fit for). but if you get a good idea dont through it away ever. I kinda do have a lot of ideas I wont ever touch. but they are there. sometimes I can combine ideas. my now published is a combanation of 3 mafia story ideas I had. and not published but I am working on a fantasy there is a combanation of 5
I have an account with my friend and we both write stories, one writes one and the other writes the other story.
I guess it depends: I am currently writing a story but I have a really cool idea for a second one. I think writing that idea down helps. For me, I plan to just focus on my first story, then write the second one as then you won’t get confused by the plot lines and you won’t forget things that happen etc. But if you think that you’re organised enough (I’m not) then go for it
We are writing six stories at the same time, but we take time to focus on one story at a time, just to ease things up.
i think you should only write one story at a time but if you get a new idea write the idea down, don’t just jump into it and start writing.
IMO writing one story at a time is much easier than writing multiple. If I put all my focus on just one story then it ends up with better character development, directing, and pacing. If I get another idea, I leave the idea in my head for a week or more, and if I’m not bored of the new idea, I leave it to the side until I finish my first story, then I start planning and directing it.
In my opinion, it’s much better to work on one story at a time, that way you don’t feel overwhelmed or have too much to work on. However, for some people, they don’t want to forget their story ideas, so they write it down, or just get a burst of inspiration and immediately start writing, which is perfectly fine if that works for you! For some people, writing many stories at a time helps them from losing motivation. It’s honestly up to you. Have a good day and happy writing!
