(I’m not sure if this is the correct category so sorry if I got it wrong
).
I never struggled to get plot ideas like I’m doing right now, I have a pretty big imagination so it has never been a problem.
However, I started getting a lot of requests to add romance into my story. I never planned it, I thought for days about it and I have no idea how to introduce it.
To give you a summary of the story it’s a dystopian future where the elite was able to genetically modify themselves into a new race, this created a lot of hate from who couldn’t afford it.
Does anyone have any ideas about how to introduce it? I would be forever grateful
This is not what you asked for but…
please don’t! It’s so much more authentic when an author sticks to what they themselves want for their story. As someone who has in the past tried to please as many readers as possible and changed things to suit them, I cannot stress how much harder it is to then continue a story that you feel like you lost creative control over. Idk if it will weigh on you as much as it did me, but I personally would encourage you to stick to your original plan for your story
I agree with Amber. I read your story and while I could imagine a little romance in it, I really don’t think it’s necessary, especially if you are struggling with it. Your story is refreshing and has a unique plot, and while many readers appreciate this, others might not like it the way it is. Or they just don’t know what to do with it, since on Episode everything is about romance… And that’s exactly why we need more non-romance stories! And if you ask me, yours could be definitely one of them.
Thank you so much girls! @amberose @Annieways
I don’t mind adding romance but I never planned for it so I really don’t know how to do it. The whole situation is just too frustrating for me, it got to the point where people started making multiple fake accounts just to ask me that over and over

I’m so sorry this happened to you ![]()
For some real advice then, I honestly would recommend reading some other stories that let readers opt out of romance. That way you can see some ideas on how the opt in to romance paths work. They usually have a lighter romantic aspect too, compared to other stories that rely on having romance
In that case I might read on this week sometime (I haven’t read the new episode yet), and if I have any ideas, I will let you know ![]()
Thanks to both of you, I really appreciate your help
Oh wait, I will write it as a spolier:
I read the latest episode. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I could imagine some romance between Amanda and Laith. Like enemies to lovers. Is it something that would work for you? If yes, maybe Laith could be sent after her and that’s when they would start getting to know each other better
I love this idea! I could make an LGBTQ option with Emma as well! Thank you so much!!
I was thinking about this too, I just thought that Emma seemed even more distant to her, but on a second thought, this can be changed too
I’m glad you like the idea ![]()
That’s true as well, I already have a plan B so I’ll put as LI whoever will fit that particular situation.
I’ll most probably use your plot idea as I was thinking about doing something similar, what tag do you prefer for credits?
Haha, no, I just enjoyed your story so I would have continued reading anyway. It’s great if I could help, but you really don’t need to credit me for this
Oh god, thank you so much, this means a lot to me
Are you sure? I don’t really feel comfortable in taking all the credits since it was your idea
Yes, I’m sure
Good luck with writing!
