Hello people!
I’m writing an Episode comedy where I just write a plot that just follows Episode cliches, stereotypes, and tropes of Episode writing. I don’t really read official stories from the Episode team, just ones that the community makes. Will you please help me and tell me different Episode cliches, stereotypes, and tropes? I will give credit in the story. It can be in any genre.

These are a bit more specific than what you’ve asked for but I’ll list them anyway since they’re incredibly cliché:

  • LI leaning against the wall in close proximity to MC.
  • MC observing LI abs.
  • LI must have a tragic backstory and/or mafia empire.
  • LI must have a motorcycle and/or sports car and/or limo.
  • MC staring at abs and denying it when confronted by LI.
  • LI must have tattoos and a leather jacket.
  • LI must have the athletic body.
  • LI internal monologue of how MC is different to other girls or how beautiful she is after knowing her for 40 seconds.
  • Thirsty best friend for MC who ends up taking MC to a party where she spots LI again and ends up spending time with him even though she’s supposed to avoid him because he’s “trouble.”
  • LI/MC has A) Obsessive ex who attempts to get them back. B) An ex who cheated. C) Obsessive mean girl who thinks she’s dating LI when they’ve only slept together once or a few times.
  • LI smelling like wood or sandalwood cologne.
  • LI being toxically jealous and wanting to bash any guy who comes within 500m of MC even though he’s emotionally “unavailable” and doesn’t want to date.
  • Golden boy who is a professional a**-kisser.
  • LI promising to always protect MC or never hurt her.
  • Pregnancy and a family at the end as a result of LI getting MC knocked up and retiring from his bad boy ways.
  • Random worker thinking “I don’t get paid enough for this sh*t.”

don’t forget

The LI can’t be with the MC but also can’t let the MC have any type of relationship with other people without threatening to harm anyone that show the MC even the slightest bit of interest

Literally is it even an episode story if there isn’t a girl that’s constantly mean to the MC, who the MC equally badmouths with her quirky best friend but everyone ignores it because obviously tearing down other women is okay if you’re the MC, and ofc the best friend is always ready to throw down for the MC or vice versa.

Or an overly pushy guy who tries to hook up with the MC but is stopped by a protective LI/Brother/Friend because borderline sexual assault is always used irresponsibly as a plot point, and the guy either ends up with the mean girl or is friends/teammates with the LI and everyone conveniently forgets about what he did.

1.) The mafia being portrayed as some moral band of vigilantes

2.) The bad boy trope. Just in general. I want more types of LIs

3.) Model Minority. (They will typically be the only minority in the entire story. They’re also incredibly smart and a goodie two-shoes. This trope doesn’t sound that bad at first until you learn how it is used. You see this most often with Asian characters.)

4.) Mean girls. They’re overused to the point I have to exit a story everytime I see this trope :nauseated_face:

5.) The MC who’s an innocent v*rgin. (They make it a point in every chapter to let the reader know this character has never done it before. The LI fetishize her for being one, too. Other female characters who aren’t v-rgins are put down for it.)
