Thank you so much! I like doing lighting coming from the back. For hair, I recommend separating it into chunks (not too visible though) and use a reference. I color picked a lot of the colors and I drew the flat colors in first. I then added more layers on top of the base color and added some basic shading. I kept adding layers, slowly adding details. For this, I recommend using a textured brush with bristles, such as an oil brush, and I use that for smaller details. Drawing hair streak by streak takes forever, so I don’t recommend doing that. Try to relax and let it flow. It’s okay if it looks a little messy, that makes it look more real. I also use layer functions such as multiply and add and add some soft shading on top of it all to make it more cohesive. I hope this helps!
