Same. I saw no guns and was like, seriously? There are genres that require weapons of some sort to have any effective impact and guns are currently the only weapon available in the app. If you’ve got a detective searching out a known killer, there is inherent danger involved and not being able to use any weapons at all seems unreasonable. But then I saw that it was just that no guns could be featured on the story cover. Phew! That’s an okay restriction so long as the weapon can still be used in climactic scenes in the story.
They don’t have this much time to review every single story on the platform. They will most certainly review every trending one and the ones that were submitted, but I’m not sure about how they’ll manage the rest of the platform
Yeah I don’t understand that.
If that’s the case then it may take months just someone story to be reviewed. If so it would be wise to wait until 10th of October to release any new stories or chapters
Ooh if this works for everyone this means people can start getting the stories they aren’t going to update/don’t want up anymore removed which means the app might be cleaner overall!
When a story is removed off the app (banned) it is STILL on the app, it will sometimes just load.
However we can all support this though: FEATURE: Unpublish a Story it would be good to have this feature so we can remove stories that break guidelines (it’s nice we have the archive feature though)
The thing is, my reason was that it broke the guidelines anyway. I don’t know if they’ll allow it for every circumstance. In fact, I’m thinking about deleting the post because people are going to start emailing them and asking to delete their stories…
Good point. I’m wondering if they’ll maybe do something to get stories more “officially” removed from the app/give the option to.
I think I’m going to delete it just in case it looks like I’m spreading false info
True, my story is still up
The guildines make episode more family friendly which means:
More advertising friendly, which means
More advertisers, which means:
More money, which means:
Episode authors can be paid more,
More animations, clothes, and body parts can be done,
And Episode employees can be paid more.
So it’s a good thing too :))
agreed
Not when half their community authors are leaving lmao
I don’t have problem with the new guidelines since I don’t have mature scenes in my stories (c’mon, I’m sixteen) BUT I have problem with the fact that episode are going against their own guidelines in their featured stories
I mean???
Yeah, hut episode says they’re going to change their stories too.
Yes, authors will probably leave because of the new guidelines but there are authors that will stay and new authors will end up joining (some authors will archive their stories yet continue to be active in the community)
It’s stifling other people’s creativity tho
That’s exactly what I said and this is just a taste of what’s in this story. And this story came out after they put out the new guidelines. A lot of authors are upset because once again it seems like the new guidelines only apply to user authors. If they really planned to make a change this story shouldn’t have half the stuff it does have.
You can be creative without breaking guidelines. Personally I don’t like some of the guidelines either like censoring swear words (you still know what the word is) and no guns on a cover but I think that we can still manage to be creative even with rules enforced. If it really bothers someone a lot, they can try another platform (or maybe Episode will work on a mature app for those authors so almost everyone is happy)
have no idea…hm.
exactly!
