that’s how I understand it.

Yeah… I’m still confused at that part. They need to fix that or smt.

You could mention it as a vague flashback. I think they’re worried more about it being the plot.

I think the guideline needs to be explained more with a lot of details.

So they have to remove there stories as well

Guns in stories are allowed, not on covers.

This is not something new, it has always been in the guidelines. And yes if an author (or any user actually) REPEATEDLY violates the guidelines they should be banned

they’ll just have to edit the covers.

And they’d need to remove some of the scenes too or edit them also.

So, I’ve submitted a ticket about this because It seriously doesn’t make sense.

Part of the New guidelines are as Follows:
Let’s give some examples of what is NOT allowed on the app. Please note this is not a complete list; these are just examples. Don’t post content if you think it may violate our guidelines.

  1. Story Cards - In addition to all of the below guidelines, the following guidelines apply to story cards:

  2. No implication that characters are having, have had, or are about to have sex. This includes (but is not limited to) any actual or implied nudity, a bed scene with more than one person, depiction of one or more characters who are sexually touching themselves or one another, images that depict sex work or a sexual act in exchange for compensation

  3. No sexual props or items being used in a sexual context

  4. No nudity, even with censors
    4. No guns

I put No Guns in Bold as I just realised it seriously effects me.

Since the guidelines suggest I can no longer use this cover, I will post it here for context.

I decided that for my new story, I would commission an artist to create my cover for me. This piece of artwork is absolutely stunning and I did pay a hefty sum for it which is fully justified.

I’m disappointed as it says we can no longer use Guns on the front cover of our stories. This cover used the Episode Limelight Gun Prop which is provided in the app so it doesn’t make sense why we can’t use a Gun that Episode as a Company has provided for us.

If it’s trying to keep in with the guidelines of the app, many film posters including Skyfall and MIB:International have guns on them which are being held in a similar way as mine but those films are rated either as a 12 or a PG-13 in America. This is one of the reasons The guideline on this doesn’t make sense.

These are some of the films that are PG-13 that are very similar to my cover or use a gun on the front of them.

MIB%20international%20cover Guns%20of%20Navarone

All these films are PG-13 in America according to Rotten tomatoes so what’s the real difference between these and the covers we see on Episode?

I understand that covers that promote excessive weapons on them would break the guidelines such as this John Wick 2 poster but this film is Rated R for a reason so.

If the reason is because it is violent, then surely any sort of weapon would fall under this category including swords, knifes (Which is featured on Episodes own Kill My Love), baseball bats (Which are also an episode prop) and things like knuckle dusters etc.

Sorry if this is long but does anybody else agree with me? It just doesn’t make much sense when a single gun that is a prop of episode is not allowed on the story cover.

Everyone: I think it’s been said multiple times already that episode is giving people time to get things guideline ready. As long as authors (including episode official ones) get these changes made their stories shouldn’t be removed. Let’s not say everyone’s going to get their stories removed, please. It’s only if people don’t listen and don’t make the proper changes.

“No use of profane language without bleeps or using an * (you can look to ratings from organizations such as the MPAA or TV Parental Guidelines to help understand what may be considered excessive for similar audiences)”

Plenty of kids have been cursing at a young age, There’s warnings for cursing, Plus kids are exposed to it at school, home, etc.

I curse too much so this will be fun :joy: I’m just going to shush now :unamused:
