Yeah but yes i agree but they are making another app for kids under the age of thirteen so there will be one for 18 plus so I’m honetly glad about that because pf there wont be a lot of complains from kids saying it’s too grown for them
Allowing “inappropriate” things intended for a more mature audience should have never even become an option or debatable topic. Lack of enforcement, people who took advantage of “loopholes”, and the like created this problem we are having now.
However, what is done is done. I am beyond thankful that Episode is finally “cracking the whip.”
This is something that ALL of us can learn from and make sure never happens again.
I wouldn’t say it’s just “kids” saying the app is too “grown.” Many of us just have an issue with how inappropriate it’s gotten, and many of us are adults.
Yeah but a lot of stories that have sexy stuff dont have a extreme sexy stuff even if they do they mostly put choices to read them
Then those stories should be fine. If they’ve followed rules they’ll be fine. It’s really not as complicated as people are making it out to be.
That’s what i mean but episode wants them to take it down even if there’s warnings in the story
I get we’re all stressed and worried. I am too. I was hoping to have my first four episodes published by Oct. 1st (my b-day), but with having to check up on things i don’t know if that’ll happen.
The rules for sex are the exact same. You just can’t say it’s happening or be explicit. The only thing that’s changed is there has to be a consent option and an option to say no.
If Episode requested that a “sexual scene” be edited/removed… then yes, it is too extreme in regards to the guidelines and intended audience. Our opinion on what is too extreme or not will always vary… at the end of the day, it’s up to Episode what constitutes “extreme”
I advise everyone to send in their stories as is just to get a better idea of what they have to change versus people stressing over things.
Not like extreme extreme sexual scene like episode how they see extreme stuff
I meaaaaan, that’s not quite true
I’m someone who was trying her best to follow the guidelines, checking when I was unsure of something and adjusting accordingly, but with these changes now I do have quite a bit to amend
And I was also someone very vocal about wanting a change to the guidelines too. Sure, it’s not 5000 things, but I do have about 50 episodes to go through and I know some people have over 100 published episodes live on the app, so I imagine this task is daunting for them too.
But in saying that, Episode normally gives 3 days (I think?) for you to change your story when they find something against the guidelines in your script, so I think this deadline of 30 days is fair and I’m sure that when they pick up their regular content reviewing after the 30 days, they’ll still give warnings and time frames for people to fix specific scenes.
But sometimes ideas aren’t that easy because some ideas that might come to mind might just be cliche stories and some authors wont want that
I wasn’t meaning people don’t have to change things. I was more talking about the ones who are acting like they have to change their entire story.
Ah, you know what? That makes a lot more sense
Wow, thank you for reminding me of something I wanted to post but forgot to.
If people are worried about having their stories removed, a simple solution is to “lock” their stories’ first episode with a loop command until they can finish editing them. No more worries about being deleted and they can do it at their own leisure.
Yeah, there’s some people who are acting like they have to completely rewrite entire stories. In my opinion if people have to change 90% of their content then they probably weren’t following the rules in the first place.
At the end of the day… Episode has the last say when it comes to the content. Creative freedom is something Episode seems to respect and appreciate, however, EVERYTHING has limits… even “creative expression”
As for Episode’s own stories… they said they are subjecting their own stories to the updates guidelines. Admittedly, Episode has not really earned our trust in regards to past rumors of “hypocrisy” of their own guidelines and it’s opinionated reputation of “prejudice” stances on who should have to follow the rules and who should not. But, we should be gracious enough to give them a chance to prove themselves and wait to see if they will be leading by example in this (in my opinion, much needed) guideline crackdown.
Yep! We all need to give Episode a chance to prove themselves. Also, them not doing the right thing is in no way an excuse for us to not do the right thing.
You are ON POINT! Very well said!
