If I published a story on episode, but it was not featured and I was not paid, would I still own the rights to it? Would I be able to turn my story into a book or movie, or would I need to get permission from Episode to do so?

my story is a book i wrote and published on amazon 
I think as long as you have the rights and copyrights for you work you can do it.
