I didn’t reply to this before coz I was running late for work, however I did want to comment on it. It doesn’t offend me, but I don’t think it’s hypocritical that it got rejected. Even if there’s no crack or cleavage exposed, it’s still clear she’s naked which is actually one of the things the guidelines makes clear. The cover Zelda made is sexy, but it’s pretty tame in comparison to most other sexy covers. If your character had on the same underwear as the one in Zelda’s cover, then yeah for sure it should get approved and if it didn’t I’d be ready to call Episode hypocrites - but I don’t think Zelda’s is really pushing that “pornographic content” guideline to begin with. Like you said, they’re about to have sex, they’re not already doing it. All that being said, it’s a really gorgeous scene you’ve drawn

Thank you. I think Zeldas art is gorgeous and I wasnt trying to put it down in any way. I’m just upset because I was trying to invoke the feeling of the woman being incredibly vulnerable, which is usually showed through nudity. I guess I am a bit butt hurt about it because I was very proud of this piece and thought it’d be approved because I specifically hid all the anatomy. I wish they’d take into consideration artistic choices.

I get what you mean, but I think that would make the image reviewers have to think subjectively about everything that gets submitted… Which at first would be great because lol, all the covers that are “technically okay” even though it’s clear they’re sending the wrong message would start getting rejected… I think eventually it would probably cause a lot more drama than what it’s worth when one person’s art gets rejected but another’s doesn’t

So for those of you that have done this, if you plan on tracking your reads or rank, please keep me posted. I think it would be really interesting to see how much of an impact cover art has on your reads. I’ll be keeping tabs on my ranks. I could only change it for three stories because I have, um, issues with the other two.
