Fading isn't working

My fading isn’t working.
I tried a lot and watched the tutorial from Joseph Evans.
What am I doing wrong?
This is my script:

INT. BLACK - NIGHT
NARRATOR
Chapter one - Are you kidding me?

@pause for 3

    NARRATOR (LUCA)
Do you know how it feels like when you are living a lie?
Well,
I do.
It's not that I wanted to.
It just happened.
When you know that people expect something from you,
You'll try to live up to their expectations.
And then it starts with one lie..
And than another one.
Until you are drowning in your own lies.
But what if someone knows?
What if there is someone who knows about your lies?
And he is the only one.
What would you do?
...
It all started two weeks ago.

INT. BAR - DAY

@LUCA stands screen center AND LUCA faces right AND LUCA is talk_excited

@JOSH stands screen right AND JOSH faces left AND JOSH is talk_flirt

@transition fade in black 5

put & instead of @ in the two lines before transition

U forgot to add the “in”.

i dont think it’s necessary and u dont have to put black bc it will automatically be black if you just put it like this

you have to put & if you want them to be on screen when the transition comes

hi fade in is used on the start when you want the scene to be black and than the scene itself apears.

If you want it at the end of the scene to fade out to black. you need to use

fade out command

if you really want it on the start of the scene it must be above the dialogues and all commands above the transition need to be with &

I had to change it in &LUCA and &JOSH.
