False error saving the script

#1

It won´t let me save the episode script, even though i don´t see what´s wrong with it
So here is the scene

“Arched Thick Styled”{
@CHARACTER1 changes eyebrows into Arched Thick Styled (<this is where the error is supposed to be)
goto brows_0
"Arched Thin"{
@CHARACTER1 changes eyebrows into Arched Thin
goto brows_0
"Arched Thin High"{
@CHARACTER1 changes eyebrows into Arched Thin High
goto brows_0
"Round Medium"{
@CHARACTER1 changes eyebrows into Round Medium
goto brows_0
"Round Thick"{
@CHARACTER1 changes eyebrows into Round Thick
goto brows_0
"Round Thin High"{
@CHARACTER1 changes eyebrows into Round Thin High
goto brows_0
"Straight Medium"{
@CHARACTER1 changes eyebrows into Straight Medium
goto brows_0
"Arched Natural"{
@CHARACTER1 changes eyebrows into Arched Natural
goto brows_0

Moved to Directing Help & Tips as that’s where scripting questions get answered :slight_smile:

#3

Is this for Limelight or Ink?

#4

You need to change all the CHARACTER1 to your own character’s name. That error message only pops up when the system doesn’t recognize that character name.

#5

Arched Thick Styled doesn’t exists

Hmm… listen to Daria

#6

did you create labels? Most of the time it’s a mistake that isn’t shown. I have never seen the Arched Thin High one.

#7

You forgot to add the closing brackets in your choices.

This should work:

“Arched Thick Styled”{
@CHARACTER1 changes eyebrows into Arched Thick Styled
goto brows_0
}“Arched Thin”{
@CHARACTER1 changes eyebrows into Arched Thin
goto brows_0
}“Arched Thin High”{
@CHARACTER1 changes eyebrows into Arched Thin High
goto brows_0
}“Round Medium”{
@CHARACTER1 changes eyebrows into Round Medium
goto brows_0
}“Round Thick”{
@CHARACTER1 changes eyebrows into Round Thick
goto brows_0
}“Round Thin High”{
@CHARACTER1 changes eyebrows into Round Thin High
goto brows_0
}“Straight Medium”{
@CHARACTER1 changes eyebrows into Straight Medium
goto brows_0
}“Arched Natural”{
@CHARACTER1 changes eyebrows into Arched Natural
goto brows_0
}

But when I closed them, it complained that sometving was wrong until I removed them all

Limelight

Hi.
Maybe you’ve already solved this by now, but if not, just add a closing bracket } after each choice has played out.
A choice alt need it’s own opening { and closing } brackets,
In code the sequence look like this

NARRATOR
Your question/statement
choice
"Alt 1"{
#whatever happenes in this alternative.
} <— your scene’s missing these.

#11

It’s missing them, bc it says there’s error if i put both } & {

#12

If it don’t let you save is because your data/WiFi is slow

#13

That’s odd. It works perfect for me when copy paste and adding the }.
The SC has a tendency to get confused and sometimes the error isn’t what the message says, but something completely different, but that doesn’t explain why it works for me but not for you…
What does the new error message you get say. Is it the same as before?

Have you tried putting the script into another episode, like the tutorial for instance or move it around ? See if you get the same error then. Make sure all everything turns into the right colors, so you don’t have a “faulty line” - A line that’s unresponsive to script codes - somewhere in there. That’s happened to me before. All you need to do should you have that is just to move the line down one step.

If the problem persists it might be a bug. I’d suggest you send in a ticket.
