To any writers out there, have you ever named a character after someone in your own lives? I’m currently writing a story whose characters are named after people I know. Just curious on if it’s a common thing to do.
I named one of my old characters Asiya, which is my friend’s middle name

Loads of my characters are my friends irl and i named one after myself too but i very much regret that choice
