I was gone for a couple of months and I just got back to writing. I noticed that the fanmail option is not showing up in the app and I am also not getting any fanmail. Is it still unavailable for android users?

Yes, it is unavailable for android users atm. It actually has for a while.

That would explain why I can’t find it! I wondered what the Check Fanmail button was for when I couldn’t find any way to send any in the app.

I’m definitely logged in and it ain’t there. From what I’ve read, it’s only working on Apple devices.
