My question is: is it possible to post fanmail on unpublished stories? I have a Linktree account with links to all of my stories on there, published and unpublished. If someone uses that link to read my unpublished story, do they still have to wait until it is published to send fanmail?

Yes…
As they can’t send fanmail on your story that isn’t published because the link of your unpublished story will lead them to the link of that story…
They can read it but can’t send you feed back…or fanmail
I’m not sure. There’s an option to leave feedback when you share a story but I’ve never used it so I don’t know how it works.

Nevermind everybody, I just tried out the feedback feature that Winter mentioned.
You indeed can leave feedback and fanmail for an unpublished story!
