Hmm. I can see why this might be a good idea, but it depends on how time-consuming it is for the authors. Blocking people who send hatemail might work slightly better?

It would literally depend on the amount of people you want to block, so unless you’re planning on blocking hoards of people, which most won’t, it shouldn’t take long at all. And I suggest this over blocking/reporting fanmail because there’s no follow up on if that person is actually reviewed for harmful content or not. THAT as well as the fact that people generally move from one fanmail of one of your stories to another, thus why I say it’s easier to block them outright.
