FEATURE: Character Specific/Dedicated Outfits!

It would be pretty amazing if we had the feature to dedicate our outfits to the characters they belong to, just as the default outfit knows who it belongs to.

So when you open it in the outfit editor it loads on the correct character and not whatever character is at the top of the list alphabetically.

The “My Outfits” drop down in the outfit editor could instead list the characters when you opened it, and then when you click on your characters name it would then open only their dedicated outfits!

I would just love the portal to know who the outfits belong to so it would stop loading the wrong characters when it generates the preview.

I searched for a while to make sure this wasn’t a duplicate request and I was shocked that I wasn’t able to find it. I feel like this would help out with organization, neatness and convenience.

Like and support if you’d love to have character specific/dedicated outfits!

Yeah that would be cool too… perhaps harder to program tho(?) …what I’m suggesting is that when you create outfits that you choose what character you’re creating them for. So the writers portal knows who the outfit belongs to.

First off unless you name the outfit with the characters name there isn’t a way to only see one characters outfits at a time. I do name all my outfits with the characters name but it would be nice to just be able to select the character and see their outfits.

Second when you create an outfit there’s no character and you can’t choose one. Then after choosing one article of clothing or whatever whatever character that’s at the top of the list alphabetically will load… and even after charging it to the correct character, sometimes on the second item you add it goes back to the first character at the top of your list. I want to see the items and/or characteristic items that are for a certain character only on that character. Seeing something that doesn’t belong to a certain character on them just frustrates me so much lol.

Now this is just all for the ease of viewing and finding and just so it’s not a huge list of ever characters outfits in one small box. But of course with story coding nothing changes, you can still add the outfit on any character.

So I’d just like the option of when you create an outfit you choose who the outfit is for before creating it, so every time you open the outfit in the editor, the correct character pops up. And then when you open the “my outfit” drop down, instead of you looking at a hundred outfits belonging to a bunch of characters you have addition drop downs of all your characters names. And you could not dedicate an outfit to any character as well by not choosing a character when you create it.

If that all makes sense

I don’t get what you’re saying, dedicated outfits already are thing? By example, for the character SARAH there’s SARAH-default, if you want to give her more outfits, name thing SARAH_casual or SARAH_beach. Otherwise, I don’t know what you mean.

So I’m what you’re describing which is what I do, you have to name the outfit with the characters name to make it easier to search. Those aren’t dedicated outfits, we’re just adding character names to make it easier. Which I probably would still do if this became a thing. I just want it to be even easier to search through and I want to stop seeing outfits and body mods that belong to a certain character on the wrong character.

I’d like for the system to know who the outfit was created for.

When you have an outfit made, and you open the outfit creator and chose one of your outfits, it doesn’t necessarily put the outfit on the correct character. It puts it on whatever character is first alphabetically (and the same gender as the items).

As I stated in the post the “my outfits” drop down would have all your characters names listed and when you clicked on their code name it would show only their outfits. Instead of a giant list of all the outfits.

Sure you can search for names now… but every time you select an outfit, the page reloads and you have to constantly type their name in to find their outfits.

So in what I’m suggesting you’d start creating an outfit, select the character, name the outfit, hit save… then the system has created a relationship between the character you chose when you made the outfit and hit save. So when you view the outfit it will always automatically load it onto the correct character.

Coding in stories wouldn’t change, you can still put the outfit on any character you want regardless of it being “dedicated” to a specific character. It’s just for ease and convenience in the outfit creator.

It’s like the characters would have their own closet menu available in the “my outfits” drop down. And no more outfits loading on the wrong character! Lol

Ah okay, I see what you mean, and you’re right, I think that would make things more practical. It would defenitely be much better visually. I must be honest though, out of all other feature request, this one is defenitely not as urgent, don’t you think? Anyways, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me! Who knows, maybe one day we’ll see this day, and then I will think back to you
