This is probably the worst thing I could be posting right now but I just saw a bunch of threads where people are slandering others on how cliche or how “cringe” their stories are and it’s honestly discouraging. I’d love to share the story I’m working on rn but I’m starting to have second thoughts. I’d love some feedback but not on this post :two_hearts: if for some reason someone wants to help me out please private message me and I’ll give you the details on what I’m working on.

If you love writing cliche or whatever it’s up to you. Please don’t feel discourage, we can’t please everyone but there will be people who love your story hopefully. And if you do get constructive criticism, it’s might be helpful but the choice is up to you. There’s always cliche lovers or people who hate it. Everyone’s opinions are different. I think the slandering goes towards abusive toxic relationship or give off bad messages most of the time. This goes with cringe stories - that’s just not their taste too. If you love writing write for yourself first after then get reviews done and hopefully they try to help you also :heart: sorry if this sounds weird it’s nearly 12am :kissing::v:

Just try to keep in mind that the forums is a real small portion of Episode readers.
And everyone has their cliche’s that they love and everyone has ones they hate.
You probably won’t please everybody with one story but there’s definitely an audience for every type of story regardless

I think I know what post you are talking about. I saw and I was a bit like WTF? is this really helping people in the episode community? This NOT constructive criticism.
Im sorry you had to see that :frowning: Dont let it make you stop! Just because you have some haters, they can go on a hate.
you always have: (dont know how many people have read your story) All them who have read your story already and provided positive feedback, Keep you chin up and remember, YOU are the one who has published a story, YOU are the ones who has the reads, THEY are a small hand full of people and if there gonna hate, Well thats there downfall that they can only think about negative experiences and not positive experiences :heartbeat: :two_hearts::kissing_heart:

I understand how you feel, I feel the exact same way, I am re-writing and re-publishing the same story for the 5th time under a different title and name because of low confidence and support

As a writer all you can do is put your work out into the world and whatever happens happens. I think it’s good to internalize the opinions of others to a point, and obviously we want people to read our stories, however the best thing you can do is write for yourself. Tell whatever story you want the way you want to tell it and don’t worry about all the external shit if you enjoy what you’re doing. Other people’s opinions are none our business, so why make them our business, you know?

Cliche can be good as long as you do it in the most creative way possible and I’m sure you as a writer has the creative fire that burns inside longing to be shared with the world :blush::slight_smile:

Hi in general - like 80% of stories on episore are cliche…um…so what? The most readed stores are almost all cliche, even the onew published by episode itself.

So there is nothing wrong about it actualy… people obviously like to read it even there are like thousants higschool romance the one who like it will love to read another one.

As aouthort you will never make everybody love what you do - because simply people have different taste.

also the unique plot is fine but it itsels doesnt guarantee succes at al - more important in my openion is in general gooe writing and story telling…even a simpl plot can be aluring if you have great stylie how you write and if you are able to make your character intewresting.

good is that writing is a skill one can learn - but to learn it first you have to try fail and try again. :smiley:

Exactly what I’ve had to do this past week! New title , new plot, new characters, it’s too much but you still do it because you love it. :two_hearts: I’m really sorry to hear about not being supported enough : you will always find someone in episode forums to support you in anyway they can (oh look it’s me lol) you could always talk to me or reach out to others if you’d like.
