Flesh Out Your Characters

What kind of body type/build does your character have? What is something your character(s) do(es) to stay fit if they do anything at all? Or is this even something they care about?

She is of thin build, she generally doesn’t care about her weight she just eats a healthy balanced diet. She is quite unfit, you’ll see in the story that she is usually out of breath after she runs. I am thinking of making her take up soccer as a way to get her to do more exercise so she is more fit or maybe get Ashton (her close friend) to get her to go to the gym with him because he is quite fit and likes doing exercise.

How well do(es) your character(s) defend themself(ves) in a fight if they’ve ever been in one. How often do they get in actual fights if ever?

*note: exclude arguments please, this is just fights of the physical nature <3

Currently, she’s not great. She’s a goody two shoes who has never been in a fight. However, as her confidence grows in the story you know damm well she will go off on a b*tch. She will learn how to fight later on in the story too.

Ella Papenfuse

Question 9

Since Ella was raised as a twin and with two very strong hippies she has a lot of stories of her childhood. But there will always be the first time she saw her dad and sister murder someone. She would have to say in that instant she quickly had a disinterest in anything with meat. Especially since that started her sister on that cannibal phase. So she’ll always remember that day. Especially when she wants to start thinking about eating meat.

Question 10

Ella never really got tested for anything because her parents believed that if something was really wrong the power of marijuana could help. So she never really saw a doctor about a few things, but if she did more then likely she has some PTSD and slight depression at times, but she doesn’t like to talk about those types of things.

Question 11

Ella is very skinny. She could try to put on some weight at times, but she’s still so skinny. She mostly mediates and just go days smoking marijuana to help clean any bad energy from her body once a month.

Question 12

Ella hates fights. All types especially physical, so if she really is in a physical fight she probably wouldn’t even be able to handle it. She more of the talk everything out instead of fighting method.

Coco Grant

(I lost her photo I’ll have to find it again)

Question 9

Coco can remember one memory before her mom disappeared and she’ll always love it as well. Whenever a little kid was coming to the bakery she always had to stay hidden and out the way so her mom can work, but once her mom actually let her be in the kitchen and she was finally able to help bake her first child. She’ll always remember that day, and the laughter.

Question 10

Being born from a witch in a who knows what kinda way she never really went to see doctors. Yeah she would have the common childlike cold here or there, but it’s never something her mother’s potions couldn’t fix.

Question 11

Coco is thick. She has curves and hips but is still in a healthy area with her body. She flaunts it when it’s needed though. Of course she likes to stay healthy in order to handle those crazy kids that try to fight back when getting baked. But sometimes late at night she’ll go on walks with her sister or demon pig.

Question 12

She loves to physically fight especially when it leaves someone knocked out in order for her to bring them back to her home and bake them. Sometimes she may go to the local pub and get drunk a little, which in turns causes her to start fighting random people for shits and giggles.

Character switch! We are now doing… Eleanor Snow!

She defends herself quite well. Unlike Venetia, she does not use people’s weaknesses, and instead uses tactics. Most of the time she uses Cryomancy spells that she’s memorized at heart. Sometimes, she has to use curses, and in some cases, (like poor Lucinda) freezes the person to death.

Back in high school I was in a gang just to feel accepted and fit in for once. So back in my gang days, I learned to be real quick with a hand gun and throw a few punches :facepunch:t3: I may not be the best fighter but I’d say I’m pretty decent to just defend myself :man_shrugging:t2: So how often I got into actual fights? Good question, because it really depends :slightly_smiling_face: Like if male MC didn’t get himself into trouble, then I say not so often… but that’s just me lying through my teeth :skull:

Katrina is a pretty good fighter, she trains for a lot of the story in the warrior capital, but even then, she isn’t the best. She gets into fights pretty often, she’s a target, a threat, to the Queen, the lords, to everyone. However, she is starting to use her dragon(s) and magic more now.

I’m bored so I’m doing another character as well

Naomi

~ From the same fantasy world as Katrina.

Naomi

Naomi

Question 1

Her family has no traditions, they’re just crazy,

Question 2
  • Doesn’t exist
Question 3

She has no nicknames, no one really likes her enough to give her one.

Question 4

Naomi has no beliefs in any God, she hates the idea of a God because it would mean another person is above her. She feels threatened by the followers which, eventually, leads her to letting some die by her enemy just to boost her confidence. She mocks and pities those who follow a God, she insults them in a subtle way but she still loses the respect of her people.

Question 5

It is rarely mentioned, but Naomi loves turkey. It reminds her of her father, who she looked up to. Later on in the story she gets more hostile and the little things, like not having this food, leads to her hurting people.

Question 6

Naomi’s main goal is simple. She wants the throne, she wants power and she wants respect. She has lived a lifetime of abuse from her Father, who pushed her to her limits to make her a Queen. Her Father was her motivation and eventually she became desperate for his respect to the point she would do anything, including murder. Eventually, after he constantly pushes her and reminds her about the importance of respect, she kills her family (leaving her sister) and gets her goal. But not the respect, meaning her entire drive in the story is her trying to gain respect in inhumane ways,

Question 7

Naomi is most vulnerable later on in the story (I haven’t got this far, but I’ve planned it). After years of having her throne, after gaining their respect, Naomi feels fulfilled, yet empty. She doesn’t know what to do anymore. Eventually, she reveals her vulnerability to a lover, leading her to finally get close to someone and open up about her feelings. She is most vulnerable when, what she thought was her purpose, is done and she has nothing to do anymore. She is secretly scared, scared of what to do to the point she doesn’t really want to live anymore. But she never will open up to anyone else or do anything about it, so she lives with her pain forever.

Question 8

She wants to care for her lover. She has spent so long hiding her vulnerability, that when she opens up, she is confused and thinks she has to act like she loves him now. She wants to love him so she isn’t embarrassed, so she doesn’t lose her respect. At the end, however, she can’t force it and ends up using him instead.

Question 9

She clings to the time she was a princess. When her father is teaching her more about ruling, when she finally gets to see her Father in a happier light. But then, a physician comes in and tells him that the Queen (her mother) is pregnant with a son. She hates this day but can never forget it. She clings to it because it was the last day her Father gave her some proper attention. It was the day he started to neglect her after he spent years teaching her.

Question 10

Once again, like Katrina, no one has diagnosed her with anything. She lives in a time where mental health is seen more of as an excuse than an issue. They don’t even know what it is. But if you studied her, I’d say she suffers paranoia and a hint of insanity. Maybe even a sociopath or psychopath, She never shows love to any character. The only time she feels is when something good happens, to her, that is the death of Lord Rose. The other time she feels something bad happens is when she has no respect or feels embarrassed. She is impulsive, manipulative and a murderer. She doesn’t deal with her problems, she keeps it all inside and only releases her pain to her lover and when she is hurting someone. She has no treatment.

Question 11

I’d say she is healthy, but quite thin. She isn’t some bodybuilder, she doesn’t care about her health (mental or physical). She ignores everything.

Question 12

She has never fought a day in her life. She is more of a sneaky person, she only acts violently behind the scenes.

Question Ten:

Question Twelve:
Fight or arguments… NEVER! She runs away from any form of conflict, and yes, she literally runs away from it.

Nathan Keller (42 - Present day)

Question Nine:
This isn’t so much a childhood one, but a happy one. The day he met Addilyn, his wife, the love of his life (still, even despite the heartache). He was in his third year in college and she was a senior in college. They met mid-winter in the local library and it was lust-at-first-sight, which soon grew into love.

Question Ten:
No health problems, he’s reasonably healthy but just needs to get in good physical shape again.

Question Eleven:
Nate was rather fit before his midlife-crisis; he had reasonable muscles and nice abs. Then during his year and a half of nothing, he traded in his six-pack for a pint, not a keg. Slowly, as he reestablishes his life, Nate is trying to get back in shape. But he still falls victim to a packet of chips more often these days.

Question Twelve:
Mostly verbally, though he’ll come at you with logic when he has to but then mainly stay quiet until those times. He will get into a physical altercation if the occasion calls for it.

Dominic Wallace (44 - Present day)

Question Nine:
School bullies. They’re the memories that continue to circulate and cloud all his other memories. Yes, he did have a friend, Robert (or Bobby, as Dom called him), who would stand up for him. However, Bobby couldn’t always be there 24/7 and so the bullies would still get to him. … This is just one of the things that he need to overcome every time he needs to socialise.

Question Ten:
Yes, he has a form of autism as well as a stutter, which affects how he perceives himself and his social interactions. Meaning that his social circle is very small and his lifestyle is limited and repetitive. Since childhood, he has visited his psychiatrist monthly and two psychologists on a weekly basis; one for speech and the other for behaviour (social).

Question Eleven:
He’s a rather plump and bulky man who doesn’t do much exercise at all, aside from taking leisurely walks with his mother. He works more on his mental state than his physical one.

Question Twelve:
He doesn’t. He cowers and often cries over anything that scares him, and almost everything is intimidating to him.
