Gem choices - yes or no?

I’m currently working on my story and don’t know how to feel about gem choices. I can see that almost all new stories have at least some gem choice. What do you think about that? In your opinion, does that reduce the number of readers? help :open_mouth:

Gems affect the ranking in your chosen genre. A lot of people hate them but good ways to put them in is by using the support the author choice, if you have a good story and “fanbase” then there will be people who will use it. I personally don’t like having gems as extra content but prefer support the author and early access. If you promote enough then it won’t matter that much.

I don’t really a fan of them but it can be reasonable to add them if you’re using a point system in your story. If your reader hasn’t enough points to unlock a special scene you may add gem choices to make them unlock it. But if an author doesn’t use a point system in her/his story, I would not want to see gem choices in the story for special scenes. If the situation is the second one for you, you may add the gem choice at the end of the story as the “supporting the author” section.

i like them. always liked it that it was available for all authors to use. what i don’t like is that now we are forced to use them in order to trend

I think it’s bcus of the featured stories. I mean there are some really very gud stories I read n they don’t have any gem choices. On the other hand featured stories have like what 3choices where u need to spend Gems. Kinda absurd since the game doesn’t give any gems nowadays. So I think they want authors to implement Gem choices so that readers are forced to buy gems n use it.

I think so too. It is impossible to earn enough gems by reading. But it sucks, because people who don’t have the funds to buy gems, literally play 20% of the story only.

If an author puts effort into their gem choices and story in general, readers have no rights to complain about them. As the saying goes “Don’t complain if it’s free”

Gem choices are important to put in your story. But most readers do complain about them being to expensive. I would be a good idea to do a small gem amount but put more gem choices than usual. That way the readers don’t complain and it a win for you too.

Gem choices to support the author and gem choices to top up points or see extra (non-influential) scenes are gem choices i’m willing to pay for. as soon as a story uses the early release feature or makes me pay for outfits or important scenes, i’ll stop reading… which is 90% of the trending section lol

Not really, I understand the whole ranking thing, but it doesn’t make me like them anymore, maybe support me’s are fine, I can do that sometimes, and it doesn’t affect the outcome, but beside that…
