If I wanted someone or something to help me with Jamaican patois would my best option be google? I notice a lot of people on here aren’t Jamaican. But then again google translate isn’t exactly 100% so idk what to do
There has to be someone who could speak that language on here, so i don’t know if you’ve made a topic asking for it yet?
I had made a few topics about Jamaica in general, but some of the people on the topic directed me to other people or said they didn’t know alot about Jamaica
Personally, I’ve never had an incorrect translation from Goggle translate but that might just be me
(:
Okay, ill do that since no one is rlly responding
Good luck with your story (:
I’m not Jamaican, but I have to say Google Translate can really mess things up, especially since it can’t tell what you actually are trying to say oftentimes. Something that is colloquial, slang, or that conveys specific meanings, Google Translate wouldn’t be able to recognize either. Best advice is, it’s acceptable with basic stuff, but once you start with more complicated phrases it’s best to just ask a human.
I think there are some Jamaican people here, but even if not, the internet is full of language blogs, websites, and platforms where you can find people who are able to help you.
I know a site that translates Patois that I use:
Translate from English to Jamaican (jamaicantranslator.com)
From what I know, it’s the most accurate free translator I could find. And if you really want help, finding people from Jamacia online from conversation sites could help too.
I know. I know no Jamaicans whatsoever. But If my LI was Nigerian I would have had like 10 of my friends I could ask
Okay, ill try to use that!
Im jamaican just dm me on insta
Yea i texted you on there about an hour or two ago
You sure
I just saw
Exactly. Google translates each word separately and just places them in sentences which make no sense! At least for me it didn’t work.
