Do yall prefer the point system than the story going how the author wants it? I just started writing so that’s why I’m asking to see what is preferred
Personally I like point system more
I prefer this more
Same!!
may i ask why?
To be completely honest, I’d rather see a story progress normally then me deciding the way the story goes with my actions. I’m not 100% why, but I just like it that way!
Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion, but I actually don’t really prefer the point system or choices that matter a lot. It stresses me out and I always doubt every choice I make. But I get that it’s episode “interactive”, so a lot of people enjoy it. It’s just not for me. I would still the read stories with the point system though.
point system can be used in many ways not only to make alternative endings of the story.
But to your question - I as a reader do not like the point system which determinate ending - I kinda feel like I might have done something wrong and I just want to enjoy the story as it was intended and not to accidentally end up with a guy I do not want to be with.
lol I am actually the same. And when I started to write it was extremly hard for me to include choices because I knew what should happen so what damn alternation I should find out…but I added them es you write becuse of the “interactive” - now it doesnt stress me anymore to make them but it is still not my nature so to say.
Honestly… I don’t really like the points system because I hate making choices in my own life, so I don’t want to make them in a simulated one. Most stories I read have point systems but I read for the good plot, but the real issue for me is timed important choices, they stress me out like nothing else
True! Actually something that Joseph Evans said about this in one of his videos really stuck with me. Basically he was saying that if you’re smart with your choices, you can make it seem like the reader is really gonna be choosing something that’ll significantly impact the story, but in reality it won’t branch off too far. This way the reader can have an enjoyable experience and the author can write the way they want their story to go.
That is something I struggle with as well! I had a whole plan for the story and incorporating questions and choices was hard for me in the beginning! I am trying to find a balance of still choices meaning something but like not altering the story too much. It’s a hard balance!
HAHAH! I don’t like making choices in real life either! haahah
yes exactly. I usually alternate just the one scene but it has not impact on the story itself. But it still looks like important choice. I know authors who make really complex branching having more than 20 endings because of it.
But this I simply cant do.
I am enoug skilled in coding to do it but I cant write like that. For me is the soryline too strongly “given” when I write.
Therefore I will never write story with more love interests and letting reader choice one… I might incorporate the love triangle but I still be the one who decides how it ends.
i would read both i have no favorite
idk, depends on whether the love interest the author prefers is ugly or not lol.
Joking.
I like the point system, it’s interesting, it lets you discover the rest of the characters and choose your relations. But you can have both a point system and the story going your way as an author. It’s important that it stays your story after all.
