GUIDE TO WRITING IN CLASSIC! (Temporary solution to buggy previewer)

Hello Classic writers!!

I have created a story/catalogue in which you can preview all the available animations!
I am currently working on a story in which you can preview character features (hair, lip, etc.) as well.

As you all may know, the Classic previewer for animations and the character features is not functional at the moment and currently, Episode has no intentions of fixing it. Not being able to preview your character makes writing in Classic so much harder.

Therefore, I have decided to propose a temporary fix to this problem. It is not perfect, however it was the best I could come up with it.

I have decided to create a catalogue which allows users to preview animations! The catalogue is called: The Classic Catalogue: ANIMATIONS, in the app.

In this story, you can view the animations as such:

Hopefully, this catalogue can help new and upcoming Classic writers who are not yet familiar with the animations, or help seasoned authors use this as a refresher.

I know this isn’t a perfect solution, but I really hope that this encourages Classic writers to continue their stories and encourages new writers who would like to write in Classic.

IN THE WORKS: CATALOGUE FOR CHARACTER FEATURES

I am aware that probably the biggest issue is not being able to preview your character features such as hair, skin colour, lip, etc. on the portal.

Therefore, I am also working on a workaround for that. It isn’t perfect or ideal, but I am also currently working on a catalogue for the features. Although you won’t be able to create a character within the story itself, I am trying my best so that you will be able to view each feature individually. In the future, I also hope to create a section where you can view how certain features look like on certain skin colours since different features such as lips can appear different on different skin colours.

I plan to publish this as soon as I have every feature coded, except for hair. Since there are so many hairstyles in Classic, it will take me some time to code them. Even for hair, I will first work on doing every hair style in a single colour, then slowly add all the colours over time. If you would like to help me out with this, please feel free to contact me.

The web previewer does not work, however the mobile previewer does! So you would have to spot direct and such on your phone.

Hi, sorry for my late response! This looks great. Kudos to you for taking the time to code each and every single animation AND features (toughest part of this imo).

It seems that the previewers for Classic are now working and are no longer glitching!
Therefore, I have put a pause on coding the catalogue for features. If the glitch ever occurs again in the future, I will continue this project. If that time ever comes, I would once again like to request your help if you are open to it. Thanks so much for responding and showing support

On a side note, I absolutely love your story! I hope now that glitches are fixed, that you continue it . Of course, only if you have the time to and feel like writing that is!

That’s great to hear! Looks like it only works for female avatars, though. Outfit previewers for male characters have been broken for a few years now and I’ve contacted support with no luck. Still, I appreciate your attention and dedication to this.

Omg you are right!
At the time I made this post the male one was actually working for me, but it isn’t again and I haven’t made much progress on my stories to say if it was just one time luck where it worked or it stopped working after a while. I really hope they fix the male outfit previewer soon and honestly all the issues with Classic.
It would also be really nice if we could see some clothes from Campus Life that isn’t available on Episode, available as well. But, I guess this is hoping too much.
