You know when you click on the story that you have created and then it shows a place where you have to enter details (More Options)
Even after saving changes, everything in my portal just vanishes!!

Everything in the portal disappears or just the new details you attempted to save?
In any case, I suggest you try a different browser and see if that allows you to save. If not, try and clear the browser cache, logging out and back in, etc and try again.
