I heard that you can barely see overlays on black backgrounds

It’s probably because you’re using the INT. BLACK - NIGHT background. That background is notorious for being glitchy and not allowing overlays to work. I’d create your own black background and try again. I recommend you to never use INT. BLACK - NIGHT for anything with overlays ◡̈

Of course!! I can’t stand the black background with a passion lol. That background always ruins my code
