Help with directing please/ Jumping into fire

Hello beautiful community!

It’s been like 2 hours that I’m trying to get an animation perfectly, but I can’t do it ! :sleepy:
I want my character to jump into the bomb that will explode in fire to protect the others character. I have my fire and bomb overlay and everything is okay except the fact that my character is jumping juuuuuuust before the fire overlay appear.
It’s pretty okay, but I don’t like the fact that there is a 2 seconds waiting time before the overlay is here (It’s not realistic because of that waiting time). How can I make my character jump into the fire while the bomb already explode (with the fire overlay) and not before the bomb explode? I have 3 fire overlay, maybe it’s because of that… How can I put the overlay together if this is the problem?

Thank you for your help ! Your animation is better than mine :heart:

But my character is now jumping when the fire already explode, so it looks like he is legit jumping into the fire like a suicidal act :sleepy: I really want him to jump into the fire to protect the other character from the impact of the explosion.
Is there a way to make him jump and then the fire explode at the same time?

Okay, I think I see what you’re trying to do. So, it’s similar to the previous answer, but I just added one more line of code from their edit:

So the “&” lets the animation just continue while you can animate other things as well (credits to @syyd.epi for the original addition), and I just added a pause that’s shorter than the first animation so the fire explodes while your character is jumping. Not sure if I explained that properly. But try it out! Mess around with the times if you still don’t find it satisfactory. Ask again if you’re still struggling!

you have a space in between _ neutral
it should be talk_neutral
