the only problem is a spelling error with “change”
oh and change “centre” to “center”

oh thanks i hadn’t noticed the changer!
but centre is british 
centre is correct. the sentence just seems fine. if you want it a touch more organized, I’d recommend restructuring to When Callie, a teenage artist, receives news …, she unexpectedly …
