Help with Story Reads

Does anyone else think it is super hard to get reads on new stories? Do you find it hard to gain reads?

Because I do!!

I think episode could come up with something more than just promoting your story on the forums and Instagram, I just think it is really unfair for the new writers.

Does anyone else agree?

Moved to Episode Fan Community since this is Episode-related. Make sure to check out our Forum Tutorial for more info about creating topics, and feel free to PM me if you’ve got questions.

Maybe there could be something like buying some time for your story to be on the front page, or on its own shelf so a lot of people could see it. :white_heart: :+1:

I totally agree, is the hardest part ever. And I just don’t think it’s right having to gain followers just so your story gets views. It’s just so difficult.

It’s so hard! You just have to work on doing r4r honestly.

R4R is OK, I have done a few r4r’s myself. But it sometimes frustrates me as I absolutely love reading stories that pull you in and I don’t mean to sound rude but you have to click with a story and find it entertaining and when i do R4R sometimes it’s hard to get into some of the stories :smirk::weary::weary:

It’s torture to read a story you don’t find interesting.

  1. Get an Instagram to promote your story
  2. Do r4rs
  3. Don’t use default covers

Some people manage to find a wider audience to see their story actually exists. You have to find a wider audience somehow. It’s all about finding a much bigger audience. Some people manage to find it, hence them not promoting on the forums. Lol, let me know when you find a way to get a wider audience. I’m still looking.

I agree, it’s especially hard when you don’t know as many people on here

I get what you mean with the R4R stories. I sometimes struggle to read them too and finding a real gem is very rare… sometimes I see people following lots of people on instagram or the Episode app (and we’re talking about following thousands of people), hoping they’ll give their story a chance. I must admit I followed/reached out to random people on Instagram too at first, but I did that to get to know people and I met some really great friends like that. I do hope to build my following in a natural way in the future though. It’s really hard to get your story out there. It’s like a new product; you have to sell it and convince people to read it.

Anyway, I’m still doing R4Rs so if anyone is interested, send me a message on here or on instagram: @linsee.stories

I suggest they do a section for new stories that have at least 10 episodes that way everybody gets some Kind of publicity
