I’m new to writers portal and im having issues uploading my own background 
it doesn’t give me the option to choose [2/3 panels] its forcing me to upload pictures that are 640x1136 which is one panel and I do not want that! Its says “Your image must be at least 640 pixels wide and 1136 pixels tall. If you aren’t sure how big your image is, just select an image and we’ll tell you if it isn’t big enough.” can anyone please tell me a step by step way to use this? Im really confused and sad :[

I’m sorry to hear that but if you want the full image, make sure you’re backgrounds are 1920 x 1136 and it should big enough to upload as 3 panels

You will need to resize your chosen image to 1280 x 1136 (two zones) and then upload it. I use the Image Size app on the App Store to resize mine but there are also image resizing websites too.
One panel is obviously 640 x 1136, and as said in the post above, three zones is 1920 x 1136.

You would have to choose an image that’s larger than 640x1136, and resize it if needed when uploaded.
