You need to make an overlay then place it on top of the characters. By spotting it and putting layer changes.
Example:
INT. WINDOW - DAY with WINDOW spot ( coordinates) at layer (number)
&CHAR spot (coordinates) in zone (number)
@CHAR moves to layer 2
While the window is at layer 3. That will give the effect your looking for.
