Omg thank u for this thread! Seems like the gay characters only motive is to support the mc n go ‘u rock, babe!’, to give mc clothes advice and to b her personal cheerleader. No. Their life does not revolve around the mc, it’s so stupid, y r they always like her personal sidekick w a 2 dimensional personality? Give them proper characteristics, personality, food taste and don’t just make their only characteristic being gay 
All in all, give an LGBTQA+ character in ur story a proper personality like u would any other character… that’s respect.
(I’m talking abt gay characters above bc those r the stereotypes I see the most applied to them but it applies for any LGBTQA+ character)
