HI I have a question if your willing to help!

How do you find good interesting things to write about, Any tips on how to find ideas.

Take in whatever catches your attention, don’t fix yourself on the thought “oh gosh I need some ideas” just go with the flow.
The other day while I watched a video on YouTube I had an idea about a plot that had almost nothing to do with the video in itself.
Once I had an idea for a new plot just looking at a poster while I was walking on a street.

Everything may be a launching platform, just keep an open mind and get lost in thinking.

Remember: don’t forget to write everything down!
Download some apps, just write on your phone notes.
But sign down whatever you think it’s cool

I write about things I like to read so if I liked mysteries then I would write a mystery I just base it off of what me personally I like to read or write about then expand the idea to something unique

personally for me i have to be in a space by myself to really let my ideas run through.

one thing i recommend is making your own overlays, i know you’re probably thinking “how does that relate to getting ideas?” but when i’m creating my own overlays i have so many ideas. literally i was making a gum pack the other day and when i was making it i had a burst of ideas on what else i could add and i don’t know why but it gives me so many scene ideas.

another thing for me is researching, i take a lot of pride and passion when i’m writing my story and i want to know everything about it before applying it. when you research things it can give you multiple ideas as you may have not known that for example… couples also do this on dates, or that job has a deeper meaning etc

one last thing is i think everyone has a favourite thing to do to relax and think. listening to specific types of music may cause adrenaline which can cause random ideas and i love the sound of rain. so i’ll occasionally put in my headphones, listen to a rain video and write ideas

hope this somehow helps!

Try getting to sleep that usually makes the ideas flow for me. :joy:

Being serious doing anything not related to writing that is when ideas come, like if you were at a themed soft play and you saw a prince and a princess you might now want to write a story about one. Whenever you are not thinking about writing that is when ideas will come to you because you are not pressuring yourself to write.

take a hot shower (it always helps me)
scroll through the internet for random things that capture your attention
watch funny cat/dog/bird vids
don’t stress over it! ideas aren’t meant to be forced
enjoy being out in nature
scribble-scrabble on paper (this one seems a little silly but if you ever get stressed its calming.)
just be happy, and be you!

Not gonna lie, most ideas come to me when I’m watching movies or playing games and most directing ideas for scenes come to me when I’m on the loo. :full_moon_with_face:

Honestly, I just have really weird dreams, and I wake up and go, dang that would be an interesting story…

… Annnd that’s how all of my stories were born.

sometimes listening to music helps me, reading quotes, or real life. I am working on two stories. one I got the idea from when I was younger and I had two best friends who had a crush on me. so, I took inspiration from that. What would happen if I actually said yes to one of them instead of been too scared of losing our friendship. The other story, I got the idea from seeing a Halloween costume on pinterest of a guy dressed up as a cupid. It was a really good photo and I thought it would be funny if a cupid say fell in love with a human. So that is were I got my idea for stupid cupid.
You can really find inspiration anywhere.

oooh, I also write down everything in my notes on my phone. whenever I think of anything, no matter what time it is. my phone is always on me, so it it super easy to just write down a little idea and then go back to it later and make it something more.
